There's nothing wrong with Best Buy - it's got every kind of electronic equipment, computer, TV, etc. that I can imagine. Plus a big selection of CDs, video games, etc. The staff seems knowledge and are usually very friendly and helpful. Repair and service by the Geek Squad is a big plus you don't get from warehouse stores or online giants.

Another brick and mortar customer lost.  On 3/8/18 I had a hectic schedule as my work takes me all over the country on a regular basis.  As I was getting ready to leave for the Airport I made a stop in at BestBuy in Wilmington NC.  My laptop completely died the night before and would not power up.  I purchased the computer (Surface Pro) from Best Buy a year prior and squeezed in a pit stop to best buy hoping to drop it off and have it repaired while i was out of town AND also to buy a replacement lap top because I NEEDED one while away.  The Geek Squad agent spent 10 minutes telling me why they absolutely couldn't accept my laptop without an appointment (even though the store was DEAD) and that I would have to schedule an appointment and could come back in 4 hours to drop it off... That was not an option, I had to go to the airport.   I thought this was ridiculous and infuriating.  I left to go to the airport  (with my dead laptop).  I called the store to convey my frustration with a Manager.  (as a business executive myself, feedback is always welcome and I consider it crucial)  I spoke with a manager named Shawn who proceeded to explain to me that it takes 5 minutes to check in a customers computer and it's not fair to other customers that I didn't have an appointment etc...I told him the store was dead and that the Agent spent double that time explaining to me why they couldn't possibly check me in.  Shawn further compared Best Buy to a Doctors office and asked me if i would expect to show up at a doctors office without an appointment and get service...my mind was blown.  Best Buy = Doctors Office?  I hate Doctors office appointments and I believe most other people do as well..  Probably not a business model I would try to replicate in an era where brick and mortar stores need to compete with the likes of Amazon and eBay, etc..  Maybe that's why it was dead in the store.  Complete disconnect in communicating with a customer.  I've purchased all our company electronics from Best Buy over the past 10 years and have spent well over $100K aggregate at that store.  I dropped the lap top in the trash can at the airport and ordered a new lap top from Amazon while checking into my flight and had it delivered to my destination hotel.  Farewell Best Buy.

Great customer service. Every question I had, they were knowledgeable on and were willing to look things up for me as well. Every section I walked into, i was greeted tight away asking if I needed any help.

Decent selection. Some sales staff are super helpful and knowledgeable, some not so much. One customer service employee literally told me to call Walmart customer service about an issue I was having.
