If you don't look like the typical biker don't bother going. I'm a bit of a larger gal and I went in there looking for a bike. There were two sales guys standing at the front and neither one even so much as offered to answer my questions or acknowledged my presence. This not only happened once but twice. Happily spent my money at the Trek Store.

I came into the store two weeks ago looking to spend about 3500 to 4000 on a new road bicycle. I know its December but I have been planning this purchase for a while and decided to buy the bike then. I really wanted to get a Specialized. When I got there there was no greeting and the worker was reading amagazine behind the counter. The worker appeared disinterested and I had to get him to help me. I told him that i was looking for carbon fiber and Ultegra compoments and he did not suggest much or give me information. I thought maybe he didnt believe I was going to buy a bicycle so I explained that I intended to biy the bicycle today. I began looking at a particular bike that looked good and asked him about what size I need. He was like I don't know and stated he would have to order in my size anyway and went back to the counter and picked back up his magazine. I got the impression that he was not interested in selling me a bike for whatever reason so I left went down the street a couple blocks and bought a nice carbon fiber Emonda from the Trek store. I spent more money at Trek than I anticipated with assessories and whatnot and had to wait for the bike to be accessories they acted like they wanted to help me. I returned to this store the following week to see what they had in carbon bottle cages and I was intending on mentioning to management that they could have had a large sale if they showed interest but when I came in I saw three employees standing in the back of the store by the service department watching an old television show. They didnt acknowledge me until I walked by them a couple of times so I thought why bother and left.

Great, chill customer service! Only charged $7 to fill tires on 2 road bikes, but along with that they realigned wheels, adjusted brakes, fixed a loose chain, and basically taught me how to use gears on road bikes (I'm new to this). One of the best customer service experiences I've had! (They also saw I was trying to awkwardly walk 2 bikes into the store and met me at the door to hold it open and wheeled the bikes in for me)

I happened to be nearby and needed some air in my tires, so I wheeled my bike in.. stood around for 10-15 minutes and was completely ignored. (maybe because I had a bike they didn't sell) they offered to fill them... FOR A FEE!! No thanks, I went to the Trek store where they not only filled my tires for free but after participating in a promotion gave me $50 in store credit!!!! They also ran out to me in the parking lot, welcomed me, helped me unload my bike, wheeled it in, held the door for me, aired the tires, wheeled it back out, and loaded it back into my vehicle. That's family.

I appreciate the superb customer service I've received at the Sawmill BikeSource store over the past few years, from the first time I came in as a novice to purchase a bicycle, to my periodic visits for equipment, repairs and tune-ups. Today, though, its employees probably made me a customer for life when my wife and I stopped in to buy a replacement air pump after ours broke. I am a frequent customer, but I'd never met the salesman who helped us. After finding out what kind of pump we had and what part had broken, the salesman offered to exchange our broken pump for a new one. Saving a few bucks on a new pump is nice, but what's better is to know I've been dealing with a shop that stands by the equipment it sells and has employees who actually try to help customers.
