My experience renting with Budget in Brookfield was amazing! They were very helpful in finding a great car in my budget. When I needed to extendI was able to reserve it another week right over the phone! Customer service was great as well! The most helpful was a lady who's name starts with a L  .... (I am horrible with names) anyway she has pretty eyes and a great smile you will notice her right way. She is a wiz on researching the best car and plans for your budget and taking care of any problems you my have. Not sure why my experience was different than others .....Maybe they have new staff?!?! Don't let other reviews scare you away from renting here. I am glad I didn't :)

***I highly recommend going to Enterprise, Hertz, or Dollar.***
I had a reservation with a confirmation number but somehow the ladies at the desk could not find it. They continued to enter my information and call other desks (Ed?) trying to find a solution. After an hour of patiently waiting, I was finally told it appears my reservation is canceled. At this time the ladies at the desk told me that I could be rebooked but not at the same rate.
I found that solution to be irresponsible and completely unsavory. I waited an hour after my reservation to be told my confirmed rate would not be honored. Fail.
I then took it upon myself to call their customer service line. Mario was polite and looked into my reservation. Mario took my confirmation number and pulled up my reservation. He found that my reservation was intact and that I have already paid for and gotten my car. Wait...no, no, no. I'm on the phone with Mario in the lobby hallway of the Budget desk, I assure you - I'm in no car. Mario said something is wrong and that he will open a ticket on my behalf. That ticket will take up to 7 days to investigate. In the meantime Mario will attempt to rebook my reservation and do his best to get me close to my original confirmed booking rate. Mario could not rebook at my original rate. Apparently waiting for an hour and a half costs you more.
To recap: Budget/Avis is a sham and they do not conduct business with integrity. They might make a mistake but that will cost you. They will realize a mistake but that will only open a ticket on their end. They will make you wait and offer nothing for your inconvenience. Budget is just as bad as the reviews demonstrate.
Solution: ENTERPRISE, HERTZ, or DOLLAR or any other rental car company.

UPDATE: It has been almost a week (6 days as of this update) later and Budget is still holding $400.00 on my credit card. I received no rental car, I signed no paperwork, and was actually told my reservation was canceled. Why are you holding any money at all? We had no business transaction!
I already called my credit card to open a fraud investigation.
The below canned copy and paste response is exactly how they do business. That number has already been called twice.

We had car reservation at the Brookfield, WI location.  Pick up was at 6PM. We called and told "Ryan" that we may arrive a few min late due to traffic. He was really rude over the phone and just kept saying Seven tomorrow. We still tried our best to make it on time, arriving at 6:02PM because the main doors to the hotel was locked.  We had to walk around which caused us to be TWO MIN LATE!  Ryan refused to assist us. He just kept saying that we can come back tomorrow at 7AM. He looked like he was rushing to leave.  I don't understand why we were able to make a reservation for 6PM if you close at 6PM on the dot? There was no where in the contract stating we must arrive 10-15min prior to reservation.  If he was a real professional he would've assisted us and got us our car right away. We've rented from several location through out the year and never been treated this way. It ruined our plans on Memorial weekend. NEVER going to this location ever again!!!!!!!!
