Shady business.. shady man :(

I would recommend groupon vs. this guy there you can maybe get some who are decently reputable and workable compared to this place. I don't have much problem with the work though they told me my windshield wiper fluid was out.. I was like "what" no way.. we went out there and looked and yep it was full.. so definitely really do lazy or lying work for that $4 fee of topping off windshield wiper fluid.

Unfortunately, this business is an excellent example of needing to rate a business less than one star.....
I got new brakes at Calvert’s in downtown KCMO. A few weeks later, my car needed a new tire, so I went to another, local shop nearby. 
At this shop, the man who rotated my tires and put the new tire on my car told me I would need new front brakes soon. I told him I just had them replaced at Calvert’s and that was impossible!!
He showed me how he could tell they were worn out. He felt bad I was taken advantage of at Calvert’s. He had seen it before.

No wonder this place has such bad reviews. We are normally loyal Calvert's customers at all other locations but this downtown KC location was horrendous. My husband was promised a 30-45 minute wait time for a standard oil change, and when he refused all the 80 extra add-ons they wanted to tack on, they stretched his wait out to twice as long (2 hours). When he inquired about the wait the receptionist was sarcastic/rude in her response. Needless to say we won't be back.

Took our car to Calvert's on Wednesday because we found a coupon for new brakes with service for $60.  After James looked over the car for a moment, he determined that the coupon did not apply to the cars needs and that it would actually cost $587 for new brakes.  The car is a 2001 Chevy.  But we need brakes, so he asked for $100 to order the part.  After leaving (near closing time) and discussing it, we decided not to go forward with the repairs.  Called back the next morning when they opened to notify them that we would not be using them for repairs and was notified that we could not get our $100 back.  The part had not been ordered and, even if it had, auto repair shops return parts ALL THE TIME.  I called back again to ask James what exactly the $100 was for if the repairs were not going to be done AND we could not collect the part.  He said that it was for ordering the part.  Now I've never worked at an auto shop, but in other companies where frequent orders/shipments are being made, the company DOES NOT pay for individual shipping.  I'm certain this is the case at Calvert's, but they're business practices are obviously crooked.  After writing reviews to warn potential customers NOT TO DO BUSINESS HERE, I am going to file a complaint with Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley and urge anyone who has suffered loss of hard earned money for no reason to Calvert's.  Thieves should not be tolerated and handled by the proper authorities.

They have been good every time we have gone. One morning I went in real early to get the muffler replaced on a Prelude they had me in and out in a couple hours (or less). I took our 99 Ranger in a few times and they were fair and honest. (They replaced the timing chain for way less than I thought it would be). I believe they are under new management from these other reviews. I've taken 3 vehicles total to them and each time they shot straight with me.
