This local favorite has been dishing out decent food for more than 20 years. Expect a wait. Also expect that after you've paid your bill, you wont get to sit at your table forever just conversing. They do a great business, and turn tables quickly. Coffee refills happen so fast that you could drink a pot and not know it. Are you hungry for pancakes ? Their cakes are slightly larger than big dinner plates. One is a half acre, and 2 of these jumbo cakes is a full acre. Eat these , the huge portion of hash browns, your eggs any style and you won't need to eat the rest of the week.

Great wait staff. They were all very friendly. It was fun watching the cook make our food. The size and quality of food really was a delight. I only give it a 4 star because of the price. $12 for bacon, eggs and hash browns is a bit high.

Cameo Cafe is a place you just have to experience. The energy here is so positive. We came in expecting a greasy spoon breakfast joint, and instead got a really unique Korean fusion brunch spot. Three good is delicious. The service is top notch. The owner seems to know every person who walks in. It's just a really special place.

This little hidden gem is my go-to breakfast spot, as well as the first place I bring anyone who is visiting Portland from out of town. I've never had anything less than outstanding to eat at The Cameo. The outdoor seating is perfect for bigger families or if you're simply not comfortable in the close quarters dining room. That dining room is worth the squeeze for the opportunity to surround yourself with the eccentricities of the kitschy, gaudy, opulent decorations that one might expect from a place bearing the name "Cameo".

-Coming from L.A., we experienced a heavy dose of Culture shock at this Portland restaurant. The owner sat my Hispanic fiance and I on the opposite side of the restaurant next to the old and grimey pickle and biscuit packed fridge- even though there was plenty of space next to the other folks. There were literally about 4 tables between us and the other customers. -The food we ordered was mediocre at best. My biscuits and gravy tasted bland and sad- perhaps it was just the bad taste in my mouth stemming from the obvious segregation 😔 -The waitress only checked up on us to give us the bill- awful service. It's a shame... we were initially so excited to try this cute weird spot on our first trip to Portland. -On the bright side, the artsy and unique chandeliers were nice to look at...
