Went there to renew my passport. It was awesome!  In and out in less than one hour! The brother at the door was welcoming and guided me on my next steps. Brother Khaled was more than helpful not only with me but with all attendees. Algerian Brothers: let’s stop arguing and start organizing ourselves on the west coast to send a petition to open a consulate on the west coast or at least repeat the mobile station experience. The brothers at the consulate are aware of our pain but they can’t help, we need to move.
BTW, they have been replying to ALL my email inquiries

What a great service! Got everything taken care of: passport, consular card, 12S, and military exemption, all in 30 minutes! Almost can't believe it! Karim is a wonderful guy, and Mme Cherchani (sorry if misspelled) was also super quick and nice.

My wife applied for a visa for the first time, and they treated her with alot of respect . and so i read all the reviews and it is not true to what's inside, 6 people asked me if i was helped or not. From A to Z there is no other consulate has treated me that way. Very professional and super honey friendly. 
Even they made it clear on their website,  just visit their website or go to the library near you if you don't have access to the internet . ( it is not one or 200 people that are calling during the day ). Gracias

Nice people ..but the visa dude has a bad temper ..so just be gentle and dont get rejected cause an employee is miserable.
When you at the embassy you are in algeria so the morale goes down and the paperworks goes up. Best of luck to all American algerians.

The service is not the greatest ,but exceptional. Staff can be helpful when not under pressure. The phone lines are almost always busy , and going in person is a MUST for a simple question. I believe that paying attention to simple hospitable detail will make a great change in this consulate. Algeria is a country with memorable history and rich in tradition. It should be represented as its best.
