Lost my passport. Reported it to police in advance, had some pictures made and had an emergency passport within half an hour. Friendly agent, no problems. Thank you.

They took my visa application even though I only had 11days till my tickets. Generally nice people

I usually only deal with the Austrian consulate via email. I recently asked about applying for the Austrian citizenship for my new baby daughter. They were very helpful and friendly in their response. They even congratulated me on my new baby and wrote they hope I had an easy delivery. Well, if that's not friendly, I don't know what is. Try dealing with other embassies some time. I don't know how things are over the phone, but via email, they are very courteous every time.

It is not self evident from your web page where one should go for visa and passport. Also, we were informed that no business will be conducted on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 due to "computer maintenance" and that such information was posted on your web site. If such notice was posted, we couldn't find it. Your telephone response was not at all helpful nor friendly.

I have received support from the LA consulate for many years and have found the folks at the office to be extremely helpful and responsive! Keep up the good work ... we are not an easy bunch to manage out here in the US! :-) The Burtschers in Seattle
