Nice place that is in a great location, close to the historic district, but far enough away to not be crazy expensive. If you want to get on the Red Train Trolley, which I HIGHLY recommend, it's just a short walk or even shorter drive. The room was clean, the parking was easy and the hotel clerk, Debbie, was just the best.

I am a local resident who stayed two nights at the Country Inn and Suites - St Augustine for my bridal shower weekend and what a mistake that was. I reserved a single room with two queen beds for my 4-month pregnant maid of honor and I to stay in. We noticed right off the bat that the AC unit in the room was not working as the room's temperature felt to be in the high 70s and extremely humid. The carpet and all textiles (towels, bedspread, etc) had a damp feel to them too. The front desk was called and a customer service rep came to our room and agreed that the AC was indeed not working. She unplugged the unit then plugged it back in, and asked us to give it some time to "kick in". My maid of honor and I ended up getting dressed in another friend's room to prepare for the evening's festivities as our room was too unbearable. Before leaving the hotel for dinner we informed the front desk that our room was still hot and they said they would look into it. And that was the end of it. No further attempts at fixing the issue were ever made by the hotel staff. My maid of honor and I tried to "suck it up" and sleep in the room that night and neither of us were able to fall asleep. We contacted the front desk to change rooms however none were available and we had no other options. The next night we stayed in another friend's room in her king suite and she stayed in another 2 queen bed room with another member of our bridal party. My maid of honor and I shared the bed in hopes of finally getting some rest in a cool room. Our room was not used that evening at all by anyone. On top of the temperature issue the hotel had trash and old food trays left in the hallway over the entire weekend's duration, the carpets were never vacuumed during our stay, and several floor tiles were cracked and loose. My pregnant maid of honor actually tripped on a broken tile and almost fell down. Now the main memory I have from my bridal shower weekend is a horrible hotel experience 4/26/2017 - UPDATE It has been 5 months since our horrible stay at Country Inn and Suites St Augustine and I STILL have not had any resolution from the company. I have communicated with the manager, Jay, only after submitting a formal complaint through the Better Business Bureau, and even since that the only compensation offered was the equivalent of a $10 gift card. Since that time Jay has refused to answer any further emails and calls. I am pursuing further complaints against this establishment. Do NOT waste your hard-earned money on this terrible business!

The facility has the standard layout for a Country Inn & Suites. They do not permit pets although many of their locations do which is why this chain has become my wife's go to choice when traveling even when unaccompanied by our "children." In this instance I was traveling alone to Miami and chose St. Augustine as a stopover. This particular location appears to be somewhat older than other ones where we have stayed so it could use some updating. Otherwise, it is completely acceptable for an overnight stay and perhaps even longer. It is conveniently located and there is a two non-chain restaurants: a Mexican place across the street and an Asian restaurant next door.

The first room we had the room was dirty. It was a suite and looked like it had blood dropped on the floor, the mattresses are completely wore out. I lifted the covers to check for bed bugs and the mattress seams were not together I could see the springs. The phone was just dirty like they dropped the dust cloth on it. The A/C was set on 60 and the room was 82, and not cooling. We changed rooms, there was hair on the shower, the mattresses were a little better but not much. I would not recommend this hotel.
