My first experience here was also my last. Gouging people for 50% markup due to not yet having your loyalty card is not a way to attract customers. Refunding customers the sale price rather than the actual paid price will just infuriate them. Still waiting (weeks later) for the correction that they agreed to do via their customer service phone line. At least they're friendly. That's about all I can say.

I called to put a prescription in and find out the price quote so when I went to pick it up I would have an idea of what I owed. When I asked for this to happen the pharmacy staff member told me that they were too busy and would not be able to do this for me. I explained that I didn't need the price right away and that if they could take the information and call me back at a more convenient time that would work. She responded no we are too busy with that, we have had too many fills and transfers we don't have time and that I would have to call back. I was shocked to be treated that way, if I need a prescription why would a pharmacy turn me away. In the past I have used both CVS and Walgreens, I was going to switch to CVS for my prescription needs, after being treated this way I will not be visiting them anytime soon.

I love the friendliness and professionalism of this staff. I used to go to Walgreens and the pharmacists either acted like snotty High School students or were just plain rude, unprofessional, and thougtless. One time they even called my doctor to actually verify that I was allowed to pick up my anti-anxiety script. I have EXTREME depression and panic disorder, which isn't fun by any means. You go to the doctor to get help, and the pharmacists should be there to SUPPORT those Doctors. That did not happen at Walgreens. The second I entered CVS's pharmacy, I was expecting the same coarse treatment. That's when I realized that the pharmacists at CVS CARED about me. Ever since I have been there, they having been caring and wonderful, supporting my Psychiatrist, not going against him, or even worse, calling him and implying that I might be some kind of drug addict (yes, WALGREENS, I'm talking to you!) Instead of a person with severe anxiety and depression, if not treated properly. CVS understands this! I literally sat at the pickup window, chit chatted about what I do in my "spare" time (we both giggled), and I felt completely at ease. Empathy. That is the difference. They care. Also, it's my understanding that they have higher standards for their employees. So, stop being irritated by a bunch of bumbling idiots @ Walgreens, and move your prescriptions to CVS. They are wonderfully compassionate, helpful, and just all around fantastic. If you don't want to worry about your prescriptions anymore, just go to CVS. They will take your insurance from Walgreens. It was the easiest and most welcome transition. And as far as the 24 hour thing, CVS is opening a bunch of them in an around Chicago! Don't let Walgreens' rude staff drag you down and go to CVS. The staff alone is worth it. They are wonderful! :)
