Asked for an SUV - got a new Mazda CX-5 with navigation, climate control, heated seats, blind spot monitoring and lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, turning headlights with automatic high beam - the best-equipped rental car I ever had! And it was new with just 44 miles on it. Service is excellent and fast, too.

Made a reservation online. Got a confirmation via email, text message and website. Went in to pick up the car and they didn’t have it, or any cars to rent. They sent us to another office 6 miles further away after the area manager, Andrew, did not call back. The staff members offered no discount but did ultimately apologize.

The staff was very nice and worked to make sure I had a vehicle that was clean and comfortable, and as close to the size and style I wanted as possible.  I started off with a Ford Explorer that was really a dream to drive and had all the bells and whistles, but was ultimately larger than I needed.  I was told when I took it that the fee was being discounted down to the same price as a smaller SUV because that's what I had wanted to rent but they did not have any at the time.  A week later I went back and they had gotten a Nissan Rogue which was a little smaller than my car, but was a lot better vehicle to meet my needs and got a lot better gas mileage.  When I turned that in and was presented with the bill, I discovered that I now owed $1,100.00.  My only car was in the shop or I would not have rented one in the first place, but if there was any discount at all involved, I don't know what it could have been.  No discount was indicated on my bill, and no mention of the $100 deposit I had put down that was supposed to be refunded when I turned the car back in.
