I went to First Texas due to an infection in my foot due to stepping on a piece of glass, exacerbated by my diabetes.Everything about my experience was FIRST CLASS! My daytime nurse was one of the very best I have ever encountered; she was the epitome of a personable, caring, well trained health provider. I am an active, very busy person by nature, and a difficult, cranky patient in a hurry to get released. She made the time bearable and it seemed to pass expeditiously. The entire hospital is "Human" friendly and very respectful of their patients. There were no demands to get into one of those ridiculous gowns, no required use of a urinal since I could walk to the restroom; the hospital is very bright and clean and comfortable. The Doctor completed rounds in the morning; I was discharged at 12:30 pm, rather than being promised a morning release and getting out at 8:00 pm, as I have always experienced at a larger hospital in the area. The menu for meals was small in choices but absolutely "over the top" for quality. Both of my lunches were outstanding, but far more than I could eat. I wound up saving at least a 1/2 of the sandwich for an evening snack each day. Kitchen staff was, like everyone else there, warm, friendly, and made me feel comfortable. This is what a hospital SHOULD be!!

They are THIEVES! The prices are not listed anywhere and they are astronomical. Our son broke his pinky finger. We have insurance through Blue Cross/Blue Shield and they normally cover almost everything. In this case they covered $700 out of our $3,200 bill. It was $1,500 just to walk in the front door. The ER at our hospital is $500. If you are going to charge someone these kinds of prices you need to let people know ahead of time and not just send them whatever bill you feel like. I have called several times to try and discuss this bill. They make me leave a voicemail and then never call me back. After receiving my most recent invoice saying that our bill was going to go to collections someone finally answered the phone. She gave a line item pricing of our invoice and the fees are completely unreasonable. The only thing they did was X-Ray his finger and the wrap it. For this it is going to cost me over $2,000. We still had to go to our regular doctor and get an air cast. By the way all we had to pay there was our co-pay.

I had a terrible experience with this place. I will never go again and I suggest that anyone who sees this thinks twice. I went in extreme pain and left with slightly less pain. I had a bad experience with the Doctor who was onsite at the time. I was not going to post a review if I was taken care of by the 4 people I spoke to for about 30 minutes each person and conversation but that did not happen so here we are. I discussed this issue at great length with many individuals over there who were full of apologies but made little effort to assure I was actually taken care of despite saying that my opinion was all that mattered. Being nice and apologetic doesn't actually solve any problems. Save your time and money, drive a few miles more to go to a real hospital not this glorified Urgent Care.

Nurse was great and that is only reason you're getting 1 star. Your prices are exuberant!! You all are charging way above usual and customary for an emergency room visit! Your level 4 usual and customary fee is over $2000 more than Methodist freestanding ER, your xray fees were $400-500 more than Methodist as well! Don't you find that a bit ridiculous? Don't you think you are price-gouging customers? In addition, there is no network discount applied to this claim. Your billing department needs to appeal this claim because it was emergent! I am not paying this bill as it stands now at a coins of $996 on my 80-20 plan when Methodist down the road billed properly and correctly and I only had to pay a little over $200 for my coins there! I would have taken this up with your billing department but when I try to go out to your billing dept online I have to jump through hoops and get re-directed and still could not access my bill.

Please be aware of billing, I went in for a level 1 dobbler under sound, no blood work, no recommendations or prescriptions. However on the billing side they had me at a level IV which makes the cost much higher. I'm going through a dispute now with them and honestly their billing office needs more training in customer service as well. There are 3 other hospitals within 5 miles of their hospital, unfair charging is bad for business. Wish I could have left a zero star.
