The San Marco staff is wonderful!!!! Very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Dr. Riordan spent a lot of time with me making sure that I had a clear understanding & no unanswered questions. I was very happy & impressed with my care.

So the wife needed to be seen by a specialist and we made an appointment. Got a call back a few days later from the office stating that Doctor Patel would not be in on the day they originally made the appointment and that they would need to reschedule. Red flag numero uno. When your staff doesn't know when you are working, either they are incompetent to a fault, you aren't there enough to have any relationships with any of them, or the practice is so big that people become numbers. Apparently the latter is the case with FES. At any rate, we rescheduled and showed up bright and early this morning. Got in the door about 20 minutes early and the wife started her new patient paperwork. The 3 fellas in before us were taken right in, so we had a good feeling about there being little to no wait time. Then came page 4 of the new hire packet. Binding Arbitration Agreement? For an eye doctor? I think not. The last thing I am comfortable with is some guy cutting on my wife's peepers with no threat of malpractice if they screw up. So based on prior experience, BAs are usually optional, so I tell the wife to skip it and we'll sign it later maybe (after having a more legal person than myself peruse it.) that wasn't going to fly, according to the receptionist up front. "We won't see you until this is signed." Sounds more like duress than anything else, which most likely would render the BA overturnable in court, but we didn't want to take any chances. Bottom line is, if you completely, 100%, beyond ANY shadow of a doubt trust your doctor, go ahead and sign away any constitutional right you have to sue for compensation. Otherwise, find a doctor that is more worried about your good health and well being than they are about their butt coverage. Just sayin. Headed to doctor Schmunes over at Atlantic Eye I think now.
