I have a love/hate relationship with Fry's. Their prices are great, as long as you subscribe to their mailings and get a daily promo code. They have a huge inventory and stock everything from computer cables to convection ovens, and pretty much everything in between. What I hate is the lack of sales people who know what they are talking about, if you can find someone. They are seriously understaffed. The few people who are knowledgeable are usually surrounded by other customers. Most sales people there, however, are pleasant but totally uninformed. Before I go, I make sure that I have researched my purchase, at least checking with other sites, and they I have checked my email for my promo codes, to make sure I get the best price. They will also match other stores and Amazon. On the whole, with a little effort, you can get some great deals.

First time shopping at Frys this afternoon. Huge store, tons of stock. Lady at the front door greeted my son and I, welcoming store, way more so than their competitors. We were looking at TV sets and the gentlemen by the name of David did a superb job. He had an educated answer to every single question and took quality time showing us differences between darn near every model. It’s hard to find flawless customer service in retail these days, but this store is a huge exception. Make sure you seek out David in the Audio Visual department. Checkout line is a bit long but understandably so when you only have 2-3 cashiers working. All in all, very pleased with my first visit and will be back many a more time.

Fry's improved in recent years, seems a bit more professional in their help. This place is the best in the area for a lot of random electronics. In the past 6 months they were useful for a couple projects I had. Over the holidays they were stocked and their staff helpful when I needed to replace a CPU fan. In early summer I found they had ample EL wiring I needed for a special lighting project. They must have real shortage issues at the store, however. Their exit is like a police checkpoint for customers who clearly JUST left the registers with both merchandise and receipts in hand. They would be very wise to be a bit less confrontational with paying customers. Staff your huge building better, rather than understaffing, as is the retailer trend, and it won't be so much an issue. My guess is they're not a good company to work for.

I once was on hold long enough to drive a half an hour to the store and walk in with the phone to my ear. The manager couldn't have been less interested in that fact. They have never answered the phone except when they wanted to show me how absolutely brain dead they were. The aisles were a wreck. Pawed through by customers for weeks without being straightened up. Did run into a very nice and helpful employee....i hope she escaped with her soul. This is just the thing that people remember when they order, trouble-free, from Amazon. I hope when they do go out of business that the board of directors of this massive turd are attacked by the employees with pitchforks and torches.....a boy can dream.

Great selection, store is in great shape and the staff are friendly and helpful. Lines usually move quick and the prices are fairly close to what they are online. A little out of he way for me to come as often as I need supplies as there are closer stores to the city when I need an item fast. Sadly, this is why I don't shop at this store much. Location isn't convenient.
