My membership was transferred to Genesis. Funny enough this has been the second time this has happened to me in two years. The first time it was swapped over I had a bad experience with a pushy salesman who pissed me off. This time around I was able to get my membership situated quickly and without issue. The salesman/membership person Josiah was very professional and made the process very easy!

In regards to the gym it really has everything you could possibly need. The weight section during peek hours does get filled and is somewhat tight but there are enough alternative machines that you can make due easily.

I like the 24 hour option, I like the second floor view and space. I like the steam room, sauna, hot tub, and pool option. Typically with those features it is very hard to maintain and they are doing a good job of keeping it in check.

Overall I would say if you have the money and are looking for a solid gym this is your best bet for the area.

I brought a friend with me to the gym as a potential member to the Genesis in east Lee's Summit Mo. I received terrible customer service from the manager Will. My friend wanted to workout for a couple of days to see if Genesis was the right fit for her. Will rudely stated that the pass had to be filled out online, and there was nothing he could do about getting her a 7 day pass, turned his head and continued to talk to his friend behind the front desk. They have multiple computers at Genesis. Will was 100% able to be a proper manager and help a potential gym member get started, yet chose to be lazy and unhelpful. I have personally worked in a gym setting, good customer service entails working with the customer to ensure they have a good experience and come back. I have brought a friend before to the Genesis in Independence Mo. Although you need to fill out a 7 day pass online, my friend wasn't aware of this. The staff was friendly and helpful. My friend was able to workout for the day, got a 7 day pass, and filled out the required paperwork. It seems as if the manager they have at the East Lee's Summit gym is unaware of proper customer service and unfit for his position.

I used to go here when it was 24 Hour Fitness and I loved it. I figured since the reviews weren't terrible I would try it out after the switch to Genesis. Unfortunately, my customer service experience has been less than awesome. First of all, I asked to sign up for a 1-week free pass (which is advertised online) and I was told that wasn't available any longer. Since I was going to get a membership anyways, I decided to just sign up that day. Misty is who I dealt with. She also stated to the person who was signing up with me and myself that we wouldn't be charged at all the first month. I ended up being charged $71 dollars that day and another $57 on the 15th. I tried to talk to someone there about it and they told me Misty was fired and there was nothing they could do. There is no "customer service" number that I'm able to locate online. Also, the gym bathrooms are disgusting as are the drinking fountains and they haven't replaced any equipment since it was 24 Hour Fitness. I will be taking my business elsewhere once my membership is up and I suggest you do the same.

BAD VIBES!  The front desk and group fitness staff are great! The sales and personal training staff are HORRIBLE! If you opt for a lower package or refuse to take their personal training sessions they basically disregard your existence. I've made it a point to make eye contact with the personal training and sales staff that I've had my family work with and they make no efforts to say hi. I know your jobs are based on sales but you can at least play it off like you care more than that.

I visited this location today. It wasn't too bad. Some of the equipment did look old, but each machine that I used, worked fine. I really did like the machines on the first floor, the ones that move with you. One other thing i didnt like was how tight the space was. Not a lot of breathing room. The guy at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. Im sure i will return.
