I love HMB itself as well as camping.. A bunch of us spent the weekend and had a great time but I swear there are menehunes here! Had a couple of strange experiences - first there was a little, tiny person standing by the fire.. he disappeared once we all went "Whoa" but he left footprints. I wanna check it out again!

The campground portion is very nice the bathrooms are gross showers are disgusting and the public State Beach is full of garbage

My wife and I love this little Jewel on the California coast....the park is very well maintained and staff are very friendly.  Steps from the OCEAN and the affordable fees are worth a stay here.  Most book 6mo in advance it is always full.

Lovely campground off the beach. Good tentsites. Close to a super market. Make reservations it fills fast.

This campground is very popular and reservations are very hard to come by.  The first row is right on the beach and considered premium at 65 dollars a night.  The second row has electrical only and is 50 dollars a night.  The back row has no hookup sites for 35 dollars a night.  Half Moon beach state park is actually composed of 4 beaches and they are all connected via the coastal hike and bike trail.  It is a very popular paved trail that starts in Princeton by the Bay and continues all the way down past the Ritz Carlton.  There is a gap in the coastal trail at the Wave crest bird santuary but there are dirt paths you can follow to connect up with the trail at the Ritz Carlton.  The campground is very well maintained and is very popular with tenters and RVS alike.  There is excellent TV reception and internet and cell phone service at the campground.  Also there  is a short walk to shopping centers via Kelly road.  There is a  Safeway and a Peet's cofee within walking distance.
