Company rented me a car for a long-distance trip.  I told the agent I was using the car for a long distance trip.  Returned the car and got the surprise of my life when there was an additional $120 fee on my bill.  The agent never disclosed to me that there was a mileage charge over 200 miles.  When I turned the car in, they just told me I signed the agreement and that was my responsibility to read it over.  

This is a deceptive practice and one that ensures that consumers will regularly overpay or be responsible for paying for items that are not disclosed properly when the agreement is signed.

All other rental companies I have worked with carefully go over these details before they ask me to sign the agreement.  This practice is extremely suspect.  

Agent told me to call the corporate office which I did.  They finally told me they were sorry and would offer me a coupon for money off the next rental.

I wouldn't rent again from Hertz.  Beware if you use this company and ensure you have plenty of time to go over the agreement before you drive away.

My car smelled like marijuana. The overall experience was ok.. but the hidden fees they don't tell you about was what got me. All I needed was a rid to work and they charged me for 2 days even though I had the car for less than 24 hours. Plus all the extra fees with my age... It was over 140 dollars for 22 hours. Plus they leave a 200 dollar hold on your account for a week, even after you've paid. Just be aware of how much it costs.

I could have taken a taxi to work (2 hours of driving) and still came out at 60 bucks. Just ridiculous.
