The woman that assisted me at the counter when I rented the car on Monday, October 16th was INCREDIBLE!  She was so kind and caring.  That was the very best experience I have ever had renting a vehicle and I travel for work multiple times per month and rent vehicles for each trip.  I wish I could remember her name, I would like to think it is in the record, but she was truly amazing and deserves to be acknowledged.  I have always used Avis in the past, but my experience with this woman has helped me decide to use National from now on.  Awesome job!

Don't like: Customer goes to car alone.  No one out there to report damage to or ask questions.  Customer must walk back inside the building and possibly wait while rep helps another customer.  On the 2nd item I noticed, I called the agency from the car and had a long hold. Then had to leave voicemail.

Small regional airport; so, there is no grab and go for emerald club members.  The airport car rental layout just isn't designed/equipped to handle the setup.  However, that being said, as it is a small airport the rental counter and cars are just a few steps from the planes.  No bus ride needed so its a wash on time.  Rental agent was quick, courteous, and was on my way in no time.

The counter person was very friendly however in reviewing the quote the estimated rental cost was $52 dollars.  When I dropped off at the Cleveland airport the bill came to $439. Difference was mileage which was known when I rented and in my opinion should have been more obviously disclosed

I have always been very satisfied in the past and will continue to utilize however this situation certainly left me with a bad impression and should be addressed going forward in their quoting system

My company has a corporate account with National.   Up to my last rental, I've been very happy with their service.  However, on my last rental, after my secretary booked my rental, for some reason National changed the charge to my personal card.  I won't go into the follow-on confusion and issues - but it revealed to me the frailties of their corporate policies and structures.   I'll be happy to use them as long as my company pays for them (and the charges stay on THEIR card), but be aware, they are by no means the best value in a rental car for personal use.
