Service: A+, Food: Sub Olive Garden Quality. Disappointing. We were super excited to try this restaurant because we heard that this was old world Italian with classic dishes with generous portions and robust flavors. Not the case. Small portions, bland flavors and from what I believe the ingredients aren't very fresh. I noticed this place has been around forever but I can't imagine this is the same quality as it started. You would be better off going to Target and getting some microwavable Italian frozen dinners.

A restaurant like this can be found in every city in the United States. It is an old school restaurant which has been around forever and has made its way into the recommended dinner spots for tourists and nearby hotel guests. As is usually the case, this distinction results in higher prices and lesser quality as time goes on. While the Italian Garden provides a nice spot for dinner, the food was nothing special and you will pay a premium for it. The menu is expansive and almost overwhelming. You should have no problem finding something for everyone, and the food was enjoyable. Likewise, there is a decent wine list with knowledgeable servers. The service was also quite good. However the overall experience lacked the elegance that you would expect for this price range.

Dark and dated. In definite need of an update. With that being said, the service was good and the food was, as well. Average cost. Went with a friend for lunch on a Saturday. No waiting without reservations. Food arrived quickly and waiter was attentive. Would I go again, possibly, but I can't say it's on my radar definitely.

I end up ordering from them Everytime I am in Chicago, pasta with simple tomato sauce is so good! I had the minestrone soup too and it was delicious. I have tried the eggplant parmigiana but I wasn't totally satisfied, portion was great but you couldn't really taste any eggplant at all.. nice Italian place, I have seen the interior but never really dined in, they deliver if you are in the neighborhood. (loop) Moderately expensive, all in all very good!

I went here with my family before seeing Hamilton in Chicago, and the service is absolutely amazing! The interior of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, and looks like something straight out of a fairy tale- or like some kind of pub from Harry Potter. It's really amazing.. (There were also signed touring cast posters from both Wicked and The Book Of Mormon, which of course excited me) And the food. The food is Italian. That should be enough for you to know that it's good, but if you didn't get the memo- When you order, you think that you're going to get some pile of instant mashed potatoes and frozen fruit, but you end up with some masterpiece like what I got- which I forgot to take a picture of. As for customer service, the waiter I had was very friendly, and even asked if we were going to a theatre related performance that day. When we answered yes, he promised to have us out at a reasonable time, which was extremely helpful. Overall, I 100% recommend this restaurant if you can afford it. I will never be able to afford it again after the Hamilton tickets, but it was worth a 91$ bill to get to eat here with my four other family members ^-^.
