Story

Serving Simple Farmhouse Fare of Rustic and Flavorful Dishes.

Our fresh market menu philosophy is based on blending homegrown flavor, unique touches, garden-fresh ingredients, and fond memories into incredibly flavorful fare.

Rotating and seasonally fresh, our menus simply plate high taste quality from scratch with the help of our local farmers and in-house rooftop garden + apiary, rounded out with perfectly prepared trademark cocktails. Our farm signatures include Prime & Frites, Roasted Chicken and “BBQ” Salmon.

Lockwood Restaurant & Bar is also available for corporate buyouts, milestone occasions and receptions, accommodating up to 165 for seated meals and 200 for reception events. Lockwood also offers an exclusive private dining room, which can accommodate up to 14 as well as a wine room, perfect for tastings, accommodating up to 4.

They had a Chicago Marathon pasta special here. $14 for bottomless pasta. Surprisingly, the pasta was very fresh and the bolognese  pasta was extremely delicious. The chicken pasta / shrimp pasta was not nearly as good. Ended up having 2 full plates of it - I got super full and left very satisfied.

The overall ambiance of the restaurant is classy. It was rather dark and quite, but it set a nice setting for a hotel restaurant. 

I'd definitely visit this place again, even though the menu was a once-a-year special.

Christmas dinner was a near total fail. Our gracious server had zero assistance, then three out of five entrees were served with major errors and omissions.  Two plates had to be rejected.  We waited with empty glasses for food.  Asked to speak with a manager and after another wait it was explained the manager was busy but we would be taken care of ... when the two plates were (finally) served they were again wrong in multiple ways. Asked again for the manager ... busy.

This was a total cluster, so against my usual tendency I implored our server to have the manager speak with us.
Jeri finally appeared. When I calmly explained the multiple failures that spoiled my family’s Christmas dinner,
Jeri offered this to help us feel better:
a) “It’s our Christmas too”,
b) it was the waiter’s fault
c) YOU SHOULD NEVER ORDER STEAK OUTSIDE OF OKLAHOMA,
d) “I’ll take care of it.”

We have had a wonderful Christmas visit to the Palmer House, but Christmas dinner was a train wreck.

Jeri took care of our bill, wine and all, but was worthless in improving our perspective in this otherwise pleasant time.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND LOCKWOOD'S FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS.
FIRSTLY THE FOOD IS MEDIOCRE. SECONDLY THE SERVICE WAS SECOND RATE. THIRDLY DUE TO THE INCOMPETENCE OF THE WAIT STAFF I WAS GIVEN AN OBSOLETE PARKING VOUCHER  FOR THE 55 E MONROE STREET GARAGE. INSTEAD OF THE REDUCED PARKING RATE I WAS CHARGES $ 43.00 FOR PARKING.IT TOOK NUMEROUS CALLS TO THE RESTAURANT WITHOUT REPLIES . FINALLY A REPLY FROM SOMEONE IN MANAGEMENT FROM THE PALMER HOUSE RETURNED OUR PHONE CALLS TO ADVISE THAT THEY HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY.. OUR EVENING OUT WAS TO ATTEND THE MAGIC PARLOR SHOW BY DENNIS WATKINS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SHOW, HOWEVER TO AVOID AN UNPLEASANT DINING EXPERIENCE DINE OUT ELSEWHERE

Not bad but not great ! The bartender was awesome ! Server was .... just ok ... there is a difference between butter and mayonnaise...

I ate here twice during a conference stay. The food was unique and fresh. The flavor combinations were impressive. Also, the ambiance and service were superb.
