It's just...not good. At all. I don't understand the ratings this place has. The biscuits and gravy were chunks of bread in a bland, watery, soup. It took a minute of fishing around to even find a "biscuit", and when I did the texture made me think it was fat from the sausage. I love butter on waffles, but you could have wrung this one out like a wet towel. The owner is definitely charismatic, but that's about all the place has going for it. Don't waste your time.

Legitimate food cooked with soul. This place brings me back to my childhood. Recipes seasoned for excellence, I don't even eat gross but I crave coming back and getting them here. (Legitimately the only time I've ate a bowl and wanted more.) Like the traditional African American breakfast. It's heavy and puts me straight to sleep afterwards. Not a bad problem to have as long as you don't have any other plans for the day. The experience makes this a 5 star restaurant without question. Go there once and you're treated like family.

Overall experience.... AMAZING! some of the best customer service, home cooking, and experience in general! Joe is a great man that really cares for his customers and creates a great atmosphere at his restaurant. The food is amazing. Biscuits and gravy are a must!! Also the Texas sausage is great!

We went in for lunch and waited about 30 minutes in line for a seat. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which were listed as a "chef's special" or something like that. I've never had a worse plate of biscuits and gravy on my life. The gravy was tasteless with some meat I didn't recognize (definitely not sausage). No amount of salt and pepper made it taste anything like biscuits and gravy. The cherry on top was that the "biscuits" were just toasted white bread. I had a plate of flour, water, mystery meat, and toasted white bread. Biscuits and gravy, it was not. I ate a third of it and couldn't finish. Maybe the other menu items are good, but if that was the chef's special, I can't imagine they're any better.
