Amazing campsite location, with spectacular views of the Pacific. Most of the camps have a fair amount of privacy, despite the openness of the area. There's an easy 15 minute trail that leads down and across Kirk Creek, and right down to the Pacific. The one negative is the lack of running water - which in turn results in odorous and fly filled toilets (albeit very clean facilities).

Stunning views. Amazing sunsets! Nice camp host who really try to keep the campground nice and clean. Pit toilets are nice & clean to. $35 a night not bad considering your location.

This is a beautiful campground that is situated right above the ocean shore and if you are on the ocean side you get stunning views of the sunsets and if you are lucky whales. The sites are big and roomy and well spaced so you are not sitting out listening to your neighbors talk. This place is usually booked on the weekends up to 6 months out so either go mid week or book early. Only 5 stars as there is NO water so bring your own and there is NO beach access but that is only 20 minutes down the road. I would not recommend taking an RV/trailer over 25 feet long as there are only a few sites that can accommodate something bigger, and not much bigger. Also no cellular service which was fine with me.

One of my favorite campgrounds along the coast. Great hiker/biker spots along with stunning views and sunsets. There is no water here, so either brings lots or if u have a water filter you can hike to the creek (3 min) to fill up.

REALLY disappointed with our experience here. We booked many weeks in advance to be sure to get a good pitch by the ocean, away from the toilets and the noisy road since this was due to be our last night and therefore a special treat on a very long camping trip in CA. Sadly after arriving and looking for our name on our booked pitch, we couldnt find our booking. When we asked the staff we were told there was no record of a booking and we would have to pay again. FINALLY my partner decided to scour the list of names for himself and found our booking with no trouble. We had indeed booked an ocean pitch, which was now taken by a walk-in booking. Brilliant. Since it was late we had no choice but to take one of the only two remaining sites, both of which were directly opposite the toilets (which are drop-loos, and smell horrendous when the wind blew in our direction, which of course it did all night) and right next to the main route 1 which has recently reopened. We listened to the sound of traffic all night. The next morning I went back to the camp host to ask what had happened, expecting some kind of goodwill gesture to ease our dissatisfaction but he was unyielding and offered nothing but a very shallow apology, and even this came only once prompted. No offer of help to put it right, no offer of a refund or partial refund, just a passing of the buck so that he could blame a 'new member of staff'. None of the great American customer service we had come to love during our time away. A truly shoddy experience from such a highly rated campsite which ruined our final night. We wont be returning and would not recommend this campsite unless you enjoy a hefty dose of disappointment after a 9 hour drive. Avoid.
