An NYC institution for Italian fine dining. 5 stars for the Octopus bone marrow pasta alone. Cosy dining room, traditional decor for European fine dining. Huge wine list. Service as always is much friendlier and less stuffy than most NYC restaurants of the same stature. Food is simple, elegant and bang on with flavor. Lunch sets are good value.

Spectacular meal. Everything you would want from a 5 star. Wait staff very attentive. Food was excellent and well prepared. Lively scene but you could still hear table talk without shouting. All around favorite.

Sublime dinner at Marea. The quality of food and the service was exceptional. We were a group of 5 and went for the fixed menu which allows you to choose the best of each courses from the menu. I would highly recommend it for a nice evening out in good company. We'll be back

Was taken to dinner here last year. Although the food was good, the inside of the restaurant grossed me out. It felt like an old office building disguised as a fancy restaurant. The carpet was dirty and the chairs and table cloths grossed me out. The whole ambiance felt cheep, dirty, and ugly which ruined my appetite. I’ve been to nicer restaurants that were cleaner and well decorated, for a fraction of the price.

One of the best meals we have ever had. The fixed menu is the way to go - you can choose your app, pasta, secondi, and dessert for only $105 (Jan 2018). Amazing! It’s not stuffy, it’s welcoming and the wine list is great too.
