The Bar Room - elegant modern yet unpretentious place for a special or business lunch. Food & presentation artfully prepared. Service tactful & attentive. The Roasted Beets w Black Truffle - Pistachio Vinaigrette are what is served in heaven. Definitely would come again for a special NYC treat.

Simply a wonderful experience! We all enjoyed the 8 course tasting menu and it was just amazing. One course after another with every flavor in harmony, all complimenting each other. I understand why this place has the Michelin Stars....

We had lunch at the bar room. Loved the food, but the signature USHG attention to detail was a little off. We had missing utensils, empty water glasses, and our server mostly ignored us attending to the other table who bought multiple bottles of wine. Also mentioned that we no longer drink alcohol, but no other options were offered. With that said, happy to go back again because the food was stellar! Hope the hospitality is better next time.

Wonderful for a special evening. The Modern was a really lovely place, the food was truly delicious and beautifully prepared. The service was definitely the highlight of the entire experience-- the waiter even walked me to the restroom at the end of our meal. My boyfriend and I dined early in the evening before going to see a show; the staff was extremely accommodating. Our waiter did everything to ensure we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and helped us choose the best menu option, so that we would make it out with enough time to arrive at the theater. The ambiance was lovely, we had a view of the MoMA courtyard, which we enjoyed. Everything we ate was incredible, but the portions are very small. The complimentary pea soup was a nice treat. I had the pistachio stuffed chicken, I absolutely loved it.. My boyfriend had the lamb, which was also delicious, but an extremely small portion for an entree. We were overcharged for the truffle gnocchi, which was supposed to be an additional $20, but we were charged an additional $30. As we were in a bit of a time sensitive situation, we didn't address it, but we probably should have said something. Overall, it was an excellent experience, but the price is very high. We had a $200 gift card, which definitely took away some of the sting, but I really would only recommend this place for a very special occasion for a couple, or of course if you have $300 to burn on a meal for 2, any time. I don't think I'd enjoy a place like this with a large group (I'm 28, but that may be different for an older crowd). I'd go back for a special occasion in the future, it's definitely nice to dine in an especially high class venue.

This is my favorite celebration restaurant. The food is obviously incredible, but the service is so warm and welcoming. We've done the tasting menu a few times now but recently I was looking to celebrate my birthday, but this time I have an infant in tow. We had lunch in the Bar Room early on a Wednesday. There were two other well behaved little ones in the restaurant (which was comforting) and I was immediately put at ease by the wonderful staff and we had another perfect meal. I can't wait to think up a reason to come back.
