Martinson's used cars has been a breath of fresh air. The low key shopping experience was nice and the staff was amazing. They helped me work on getting a great interest rate as well as being willing to negotiate a great deal that fit into my budget. This friendly family owned business was helpful when I had questions and made this a much less stressful decision. I will gladly return in the future with my business and I would recommend them to anyone in the market for a newer car.

I went there when I was car shopping and the gentleman was nice up until I offered him a price and he took offense to it and got rather rude. I have never bought a car for more than clean trade in and his were above that and he was not willing to deal. When I tried dealing with him he got a book out that was not up to date and tried to "prove to me" the car was worth what he had listed on it. I unfortunately do my research and know it was much less. Not only that but I already knew the cars reliability rating and it was not that great so I was NOT going to pay more than clean trade in. I have bought from Toyota of DSM and Efkamp and both were great to work with and willing to deal. Why does this guy not get it? Good business means negotiating.. He is in sales after all..

I am Rob Martinson, owner of Martinson's Used Cars.  I would like to address the only review I have and give a little insight to our operation.  First of all, I apologize to the reviewer for having a bad experience at our dealership.  Your review will be shared with my employees and will be discussed.  My goal is to provide a freindly, low pressure experience selling quality used vehicles. 
I can honestly say we have not sold a vehicle for list price in years. We negotiate on every vehicle we sell. I can also honestly say that I pay clean trade in value or more for nice, desireable vehicles. Nice cars bring more than book value, and rough cars bring less. The book is just a guide that is an average of similar vehicles that have been sold.  With used car prices being the highest in history, you have to pay more for nice cars. Every vehicle we sell is inspected, serviced, and reconditioned to high standards.  Every vehicle we sell has a clean title.   We spend more on reconditioning and inspection than most used car dealers in order to sell a better product.   
I agree with the reviewer on two points. Toyota of Des Moines and Randy Efkamp are great to work with.  I have sold both dealerships many cars for more than clean trade-in book value.  They both have reputable operations and appreciate nice, clean cars. I also agree that you have to negotiate in the car business.  We try our best to sell a quality product at a fair price and stand behind it to keep the customer happy.  If there is ever a problem with our product or service, I want to know about it.  I am always available at the dealership and  welcome your call.
