Masseria, a Michelin Star restaurant in Union Market, is a celebration of the bold, harmonious Italian flavors that shaped owner and chef Nick Stefanelli’s palate. The restaurant’s name is a heartfelt homage to Stefanelli’s roots, and the agricultural farms of the Puglia region. Masseria is an intimate dining-experience crafted by an expert team of chefs and sommeliers, each of whom contribute to a unique experience that merges rustic Italian hospitality with the industrial grit of the Union Market neighborhood.

Great fine dining experience without being too stuffy and pretentious. Staff was friendly and personable yet professional. Food was excellent and unique. Ambience is warm and romantic with a hip flare. Easily one of my favorite places in DC. You can't go wrong!

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent – friendly, attentive, but not overbearing. We arrived at the time of our reservation and they had a table waiting just beside the outdoor patio. However, someone was smoking a cigar in the patio, and we asked if we could be moved away from the smoke. The staff was extremely accommodating and seated us at the chef’s table beside the kitchen, which was perfect for our foodie family. After a casual conversation about family events with the hostess while waiting for the table to be prepped, we were surprised and delighted later when our dessert plates arrived with personalized special occasion messages written in chocolate. It was a wonderful evening for our family of four - many thanks!

The food is spectacular and it has a great laid back vibe. The spaghetti with xo sauce was spectacular along with the chestnut and ricotta ravioli and the jumbo prawn with anchovy sauce. Service was a bit stilted and rushed but we had a great experience nonetheless

Dinner for four with one round of drinks and one reasonably priced bottle of Virginia wine was 650. This sets a pretty high standard in DC and we didn't think Masseria lived up to it. One round of drinks took 25 minutes to arrive and the restaurant was almost empty at the time. A second order for my wife never arrived at all. Service at the table was very good but we would have preferred to order individual dishes as the smallest dinner is 4 dishes. Waiter's long descriptions of the dishes as they arrived got a little intrusive by the third dish. On the plus side, a very cool looking facility and pretty walled garden in an industrial row at Union Market.

Best service, accommodations, attention to detail, and mixology in DC! We dined with six last week at the last minute and they went out of their way to ensure we were all seated and appropriately served. The menu is divine--expertly executed and reasonably portioned. Matched with over-the-top cocktails, fantastic service (thanks Tao, the fabulous hostess, and the bald gentlemen with glasses), we were truly overwhelmed with the true representation of a 2017 dining experience. Thanks for a great time and we'll be sure to return again soon!
