The same as everyone else, WE WERE TERRIBLY NEGLECTED in a very stressful situation. My husband and I decided to go to Memphis for our anniversary and we were having a wonderful time on Beale St. , I wanted to stop at a store and shop after we finished dinner. So, we saw this darling shop and stopped. I was looking around and I guess that my husband had enough shopping and asked to leave, I was finished as well, so, I went to check out and I looked around and my husband was in the floor, face down, with blood pouring out of his face!! I was in the middle of check out and they had my card, but, all I wanted was the world to stop, so I could call 911and get him the help he needed! I started shouting commands to everyone," Get Me a Clean towel, help me turn him , but slowly, he may have injured his neck too!" I had the place jumping when the first responders (firefighters, EMTS) Arrived and saw the blood everywhere. Brought in the gurney loaded him up , helped me in the front, just like the OLD DAYS (husband is a retired firefighter and used to let me get up in the trucks when I came to the station) keep in mind , it's our anniversary.. I will continue, but THİS Hospital said that because of all the.. I have to go for now. .be back

I was taken by ambulance to the ER at the VA for chest pains.
I received a bill from Memphis fire department. 
I have called the VA,numerous times to resolve the issue.
Know one calls back.
You have to take off work to get anything resolved.

If I could rate a 0.... That would be the perfect rating. A patient come by ambulance is sent to the ER Waiting Area to sit over 5 hours! The thought of being told after a 3 hour wait there are 4 people ahead of you. 2 hours after that it's 5 people ahead of you. Completely RIDICULOUS!! I WELWILL BE CONTACTING THE NEWS MEDIA TO FIX THE LIE OF IT SHOWING IMPROVEMENT. OH, YOU ALSO DON'T TELL THESE PEOPLE OF THEIR CANCER DIAGNOSIS UNTIL THEY ARE IN STAGE 4!! YOU'RE SAVING THE GOVERNMENT MONEY BY ALLOWING THEM TO DIE..... THE HE'LL WITH THE VA HOSPITAL!!

The facility switchboard is staffed by either incompetent individuals or by individuals who just do not care. Like many other reviewers the hours spent just to speak to the right department or to make a simple appointment is third world in its inefficiency. Now on the other hand the actual quality of care I have experienced once inside the facility has been 4 STAR there are the usual wait time delays but overall once you actually get treatment it is very competent. But oh the Memphis VA switchboard is beyond archaic and way, way  beyond pathetic .

Spent over 5hrs waiting in this VA ER almost seemed like they were doing it on purpose to get the people to leave. Didnt  look like they had much going on in the back and yet the wait times were so long for nothing. I was Force to come here because I’m on a waiting list for a pcp since they don’t have enough physicians for the vets in this VA apparently. It really is a shame vets have to put up with such horrible service. Really hoping I don’t have to find myself in this ER ever again.
