My review is based on the Emergency Room. This is the worst I have ever experienced. When you first get tot he ER, you are screened quickly. After that it is down hill. When you do get a room, your wait is, it seems eternal.  You have to actually leave the room you are waiting in to find a doctor or a nurse to actually wait on you. They leave you in a room forever. They are not courteous and uncaring. I am very glad that the doctor I found in the hallway to wait on me was very caring. He even asked me how long I had been there. He was sensitive, and he even stated that the staff has no accountability. He took interest in my case, and he was very helpful.  I understand that he is new to the staff. He was concerned and very helpful.

I like this place more than M. North. Doc was cool, informative, nurses were sweet. Over all my medical experience was nice. Just one thing, not that it's that huge of a deal, but i went into the Family Relations center. Was hoping i could charge my laptop up a little. I admit its immature to just wander around the hospital, but i don't think that was a reason for the girl working the desk to get so snippy with me. She greeted me, asked what i needed, i admitted i was just waiting for my ride and she proceeds to point to the door and say repeatedly say "There's the exit." Fake smile and all. I'm not saying either us is right or wrong but it was kinda humiliating for all those people to stare at me as she made me leave. Other than that, i'd come back if needed.

This hospital has awful, unprofessional, insensitive, rude, (I could keep going), and simply uncaring employees. I am out of state, however stayed there for 5 days with my ailing mother Oct. 2017. She is currently there in ER. During her recent stay , she cannot walk and was left in her bed for over an hour needing to be cleaned. A nurses assistant was rough with her (reported these issues) and rude to her. Seemingly the job description of quality care is rare at this hospital. There may be a few decent nurses and doctors, but their aforementioned employees outnumber them by far!! One of several examples occurred today.  I'm placed on hold for a nurse I spoke to earlier to check on my mother's condition, a man picks up the line and rudely says, "Why do you keep calling back here; "I don't know what's going on with the patient", "Call the main line and ask for the nurse." Not only what he said, but how callous he said it! Carlton was the name he gave me. I told him this was the # the main line transferred me to and I was holding for the ER nurse I spoke to 2 hrs ago. He continues to be dismissive, uncaring, although I stated I want to know if my mom''s condition has changed. He says, "Nurses shift change and she's probably gone". I advise she told me she finishes at 11pm and the time is 7:30pm. All that said, we ALL have mother's and this was an experience no one should be subjected to!!

I just had surgery yesterday,  they said the person has to wait 12 hours before they receive medication so you're already hurting. I didn't even see a doctor after I got done with surgery my doctor left and his intern never came and spoke to me very upset about that. Back surgery is nothing to play with but yet the intern didn't even come here speak to me after I got out of recovery that was really nice of him not to do that. You can bet my doctor will hear ABOUT ot Monday. And Pain management sucks here I'm hurting

My grandmother has been coming to Methodist Downtown for a little over a year now and this experience has been rocky. With the lack of communication from the nurses, dirty ER & bathrooms, smelly lobby area, and rude staff we're considering changing over to Baptist. It's a very few EXCEPTIONAL doctors and nurses, but the others don't want to be at work or their just not compassionate about their job. It's unfortunate because my grandmother likes the hospital, but the wait is terrible and in her condition we can't have any other problems in the future! I do not recommend this hospital to anyone in need of urgent care.
