This is the nastiest inconsiderate hospital in Memphis. Recently went here due that my insurance isn't covered by Baptist. Went in with headache on 10, nausea, diarrhea, body aches, fever, and chills. The did not treat my headache. At that the had me in the hallway with no privacy for over 6 hours. Staff does to care about exposing all your business. This place is filthy. They only treated my nausea and treated me like an addict. Went in with a fever no medication given until a few hours later my fever spiked 102. It's unfair you don't get a room, privacy, or great treatment, but are still charged as if you had a room and great service. Also, years back they misdiagnosed me with pneumonia. Pumped me up with antibiotics that I was allergic with. I informed them my leg was hurting and my face was swelling. The doctor informed me my beanie was to tight and ignored my leg. Got home felt like I was having a heart attack, was rushed to Baptist. Found out I didn't have pneumonia, but 2 pulmonary embolisms in each lung. Thank God for Baptist cause Methodist sent me off to die. Tried to file a lawsuit, but haven't found a lawyer who thinks this is a good cause of malpractice. Even had several spinal taps procedures cause they thought I had meningitis at Methodist. Extremely painful unessacary procedure. If you love yourself family and friends, take the extra time and do not go here. Hope this helps someone. I still have this excruciating headache.

I arrived at the ER on Saturday with complaints of dizziness and loss of balance. Staff assisted me into a wheelchair, quickly got a history and vitals, and then put me in an examination room. I was seen almost immediately by a nurse practitioner and by an ER doctor shortly thereafter. The physician ordered labs, CT scans, and an MRI. Staff members introduced themselves, stated their purpose and used appropriate gloving and hand washing. I was admitted and taken to my room on the 3rd floor. Nursing staff did a whole body skin assessment, put slip-proof socks on me, and showed me how to use bedside controls. The nurse told me to call for bathroom assistance and then set the bed alarm as an added precaution. A staff member asked if I had eaten and when I told her I hadn't, she brought me a heart healthy tray of decent tasting pasta with meat sauce and a vegetable dish. When taken out of my room for the MRI, I noticed that staff had placed a "high risk" for falls sign on my door; I found this reassuring. In spite of being called at least 3-4 times during the night to assist me to the bathroom, the staff members were pleasant and patient. While I was occupied in the bathroom, the night shift R.N. actually straightened the sheets and extra blankets on my bed. I was pleasantly surprised to come out to a neatly prepared bed. My experience at Methodist North was positive for the following reasons: Infection control procedures were effectively observed, staff members were professional, diagnostic tests were thorough. My only recommendation is that staff members who smoke cigarettes rid themselves of the odor before getting up close and personal to a patient.

Racist white nurses and other untrained nurses don't know what they're doing. They kept sticking me over and over and over until I eventually grew over irritated and was in pain. Unprofessional at its best .

This is a horrible place. If i were dying and that was the only hospital on the planet, i would rather die. Security is ridiculous! I was trying to take my daughter to the emergency room not 201 poplar. I did get her to a hospital where you walk in with no hassle from "security", no emptying your pockets, and no metal detectors. That hospital was named Saint Francis. Thank God for Saint Francis!
