This was a great state park to visit. I didn't get a chance but the canoeing looked really cool. The bathrooms and showers were great and well kept.

By far one of my favorite state parks! For some reason whenever we go, we seem to be the only ones there, but that makes it even better! I have never camped here, but I have canoed though the swampy waters a couple of times and only once have I been lucky enough to spot a gator. I am still shocked that they live so far north, but I’ve seen at least one, so I know they are there. Even if you don’t get lucky enough to see an alligator the swamp is beautiful and so quiet and peaceful. There are many turtles and herons and just the scenery alone is enough. Canoe rentals are only $5 and there is no entry fee to get into the park. You really can’t beat that deal. The staff in the visitors center is always very nice and helpful. This is a great place to visit!

We love birding, walking trails & canoeing here. The trails are well maintained & the bathrooms are clean. It's never crowded so it feels like a little piece of paradise in NC.

A fun place to go camping, whether you want to backpack or canoe to your site. The most fun is the Five Mile canoe trail, but I would not recommend that trail for beginners
