My experience was more closely aligned with Patrick's review than with Phillip's.  My repair was small (and a day later turned out to be ineffective), but with the service call minimum rate, a huge premium on an inexpensive part (according to Amazon), and (my favorite) the "miscellaneous compounds" fee, it was very expensive and not a good value.  It was also not quoted or estimated in advance.  Unfortunately, when the same problem returned two days later, they appeared to be happy to forget they were just there.  I definitely felt like I was just another invoice and not a customer.  Shopping around for another company's business was in my best interests.

My mother had a new sink installed with her kitchen reno.  The sink clogged a couple months later and the plumber said the drain was not installed correctly.   Ok.  Expensive fix but I understand, to not have an issue anymore.   2 months later the same thing happens and now the repair bill is MORE expensive for the same fix that they did last time.

When a sudden drain overflow happened (on a Monday morning, of all days!), one call and help was there in an amazingly short period of time.  Problem fixed.  I was so pleased I have since had them out to the house two more times to install a hot water tank and water softener system.  I am super impressed.  Matt was the guy they sent for my first emergency and I was so impressed, I requested him specifically for the hot water tank and the softener install.  He did a TREMENDOUS job!  Highly recommend Merrell Plumbing!!

They replaced my traditional gas water heater with a tankless on demand. Ther were $500 cheaper than my other offer. They seemed more genuine and detail oriented, less of a sleezy smile and a big price. Using again for future plumbing needs.

Hired to fix a water heater on a weekend as emergency service at 198 per hour. Gave model and serial number and explained it was a bad sensor. Showed up without the part and said he didn't feel like getting part and that if booked up Monday would be there on Tuesday and billed us $218 for doing Nothing!  Unacceptable. Be warned. Don't waste your time with dishonest and lazy service.
