Story

The Museum of Craft and Design (MCD) is San Francisco’s only museum devoted exclusively to modern and contemporary craft and design. Founded in 2004, the MCD showcases designers, makers and artists through an exciting and distinctive series of craft and design-focused exhibitions and public programs. As a non-collecting institution, the museum actively collaborates with artists, designers, museums and universities, as well as design venues and practitioners to create inspirational experiences in the world of craft and design for visitors of all ages.

It's a very unique place to visit. Lots of arts and crafts, videos throughout the museum explaining how wool are use in soo many ways. Arts and crafts hand on workshops. The employees were all nice and friendly. They welcome you in and smile. That's what makes it a nice environment. No one following you around, you can sit, relax, watch the videos, and read the printouts of everything they have in there. I really enjoyed that MUSEUM.

Really cool little museum. Very little. The exhibit was really well done and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only reason this isn't five stars is that it is SO tiny. By no means a waste of time. Visit when you have a free hour between other activities.

The wool/felt exhibit was amazingly informative. This is what a museum should be.

Super small ... for the price of admission I thought there would be a bit more to it. I enjoyed what we saw, there just wasn't much. Lovely gift store.
