The National Museum of Mathematics strives to enhance public understanding and perception of mathematics with hands-on, interactive exhibits and programs.
Note MoMath closes early (2:30 pm) the first Wednesday of every month.
Mathematics illuminates the patterns that abound in our world. The museum’s activities will lead a broad and diverse audience to understand the evolving, creative, human, and aesthetic nature of mathematics.
Accomplishments to date include opening North America's only museum devoted to math and its many connections with nature, art, science, business, music, and everyday life; creating the popular Math Midway exhibition (mathmidway.org), which is currently touring museums throughout the United States; leading math tours in various U.S. cities; the Math Encounters (mathencounters.org) presentation series; delivering programs for students, teachers, and the public to increase appreciation of mathematics; and hosting over 125,000 visitors to date.
Like most museums, MoMath cannot survive on admission revenue alone. If you believe in the mission of the National Museum of Mathematics, please support the institution by becoming a member (momath.org/join) or donor (momath.org/contribute). Thanks!
