WHAT IS TALKING STICK??

Talkingstick at RMA is a FREE monthly event, which features writers, actors, comedians, and performers sharing true stories inspired by works of art from the Rubin Museum of Art collection alongside museum guides who share stories from within the rich oral traditions of the Himalayas. Funny, sad, poignant, and cutting, Talkingstick at RMA provides opportunities to explore various perspectives on Himalayan art while experiencing the spontaneous and dynamic world of storytelling.

Talkingstick at RMA is held at 8:30pm on the second Friday of each month in the galleries of the museum with founders, Master Lee and Mr. Patrick. Meet at the bottom of the lobby stairs at 8:30pm. Free and open to the public!

Imagine a museum devoted to all things Buddhism. What a joy. The sense of peace simply radiated off the walls and those that were present brought such a high level of energy that I was high the entire visit. The museum is light in its feel. You sense that from the moment you cross the threshold and are bathed in reverence of the universe. There is a cafe which serves some pretty darn good food, there is a bar that serves drinks along with a bookstore. Loved it.

This is now my favourite museum in NYC. Small but perfectly formed, exquisite collection of Tibetan sculpture and paintings. My kids loved the sound exhibition.

Small but a fantastic selection, really homey and comfortable. You need some time to go through it properly if you are into it. It's a great place to visit!

I came here to write a class paper and brought my son. We both love Tibetan art. We were gonna stay for tea and a snack but decided not to. It's small but, you feel as if you're in a sacred space. Next time we go, we're getting tea.

One of the best museums in New York and I've seen almost all. Make sure to catch a tour with Dr. Ron on a Friday night to get the best experience
