Oswego Cyclery has professionally trained mechanics who are also dedicated cyclists on their own time. The owner runs the store so that the employees aren't sick of bikes when they're not working. Good work environment, good employees, quality product. What more could you want? They also support the community cycling efforts by organizing local mountain bike trail cleanup/construction efforts, and other things like community rides. I got my first "fancy" bike in 2015, a Trek Crossrip Elite, for a decent price. The experience was great. I am definitely a tire-kicker, which some salespeople hate, but I knew I wanted something and they were kind and welcoming throughout the whole process. I ended up putting so many miles on it in the first few months that a component snapped and they took it on themselves to fight with the manufacturer to get the part replaced. I come in for questions I run into while playing with my own bikes and they don't make me feel bad, no matter how stupid the questions are. The cycling community gets a bad reputation for elitism, which can scare away newcomers. You will not encounter that here. Just friendly people who want to get more people on bikes. So, maybe you can feel what I am getting at; the community is small enough that they aren't just selling one-and-done bikes. My impression is that they are building long-term relationships with their customers (whether they realize it or not, they might just be really good people!)
