I have had the same experience as Ivonne Gonzalez. Our puppy is adorable, but was coughing as soon as we got her home. She coughed once at the store, and the employees told me that she was sneezing. It did not happen again, and they told me that their "vet" checked her out in the back and she was fine. We have had her for 4 days, and we took her to our regular vet even though the store was insistent on our taking her to their vet. I did not trust that their vet would provide an honest diagnosis. She has been diagnosed with kennel cough and worms. I am absolutely horrified that we paid the amount of money that we did, and that this poor puppy has worms! They said at the time that we could bring her back within 4 business days. As Ivonne said, how are you supposed to do that when you've adopted this little puppy and brought them into your family? Instead, we are now on the road to spending more money on vet bills to get her healthy. Which, she should have been to begin with as an "AKC registered" and expensive puppy. This place should not be in business.

Update: Many if you went anyway, and ended up with a sick puppy. Since the law won't take them down, because puppy mills are sadly legal, just like eating dogs and cats are legal, these animals are at the mercy of the hands who take care of them. This place has so many NEGATIVE reviews, about PUPPIES DYING, HAVING PARASITES, PARVO, LOOSE KNEECAPS, EVEN EATING THEIR OWN POOP!! The cause of this is due to puppies coming from PUPPY MILLS! BIRDS DYING WITHIN DAYS OF BEING ADOPTED! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED, ANIMALS NEED TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM THE STORE AND MILL, NEED IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE, AND THE RUNNERS OF THE MILLS AND STORE WHO ARE AWARE OF THIS CRIME NEED TO BE PUT IN PRISON AND/OR MENTAL ASYLUM PRISON. I have reported this inhumane establishment to PETA and SPCA. Don't buy from here unless you are financially able to save a sick puppy. THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE WILL GO DOWN! IF YOU WORK THERE AND ARE AWARE OF THE TRUTH OR ARE A BREEDER, YOU WILL GO DOWN! YOU WILL END UP IN PRISON! SHAME ON ALL OF YOU! YOU ARE VILE DISGUSTING MONSTERS! The lowest of the low.

Very busy, took 15-20 minutes to get an employees attention. Most of the dogs have no bedding or toys. The employee was very nice, but they went straight into the sales pitch before offering any pricing information. In the end, if you are looking to spend 3-4K on a puppy then this is the place for you. However, I would recommend buying from a reputable breeder at a quarter of the price.

A lot of the negative reviews seem to be from people who didn't actually go inside the store, so I felt like I had to write this review. They don't use puppy mills. Walk in, ask them, they'll show you pictures of their breeders and their boss who inspects the breeders in person. That's why the dogs are so expensive I guess. The dogs are expensive and they are shady about pricing, they only tell you once you're in the store. But they said they do that because people get scared by big numbers until they understand what the price includes, and that most people are actually very impressed with the value once they do. They told me what it's all about, and I'm forced to admit it's worth it for a rich person who can afford it. It's not like a bargain store, these people are selling luxury puppies. The store is insanely clean and the salespeople are obviously in love with their animals. Someone else mentioned abuse, which is why I went in to see how they handle stuff, and they talked about there being poop left out and the people being rough with the dogs. There was poop in the cages, but in the 20 minutes I was there every single dog on their puppy wall thing pooped at least once, and some pooped in their play-room things they put people in to meet the dogs. I think it may be that puppies poop a lot. I saw no evidence of any abuse, and the (Nurses? Technicians? Poop-scoopers?) in the back were a bit rough with the dogs, but they were getting bit and chewed on a lot by the dogs trying to play and none of them did anything that seemed to hurt the dog at all. No yips or cries of pain at all. I think people are too sensitive, and forget that dogs (even puppies) are pretty tough little buggers and don't mind rough-housing. The salesperson I met with told me about all the dogs, and they knew them all by personality and had funny stories for each. Another salesperson I did not speak to was just carrying a dog around because she was obviously smitten with the animal, and while she tried to sell him, the other salespeople were joking she'd adopt the dog. This seemed to be a common occurrence, so they must like the place. Someone dropped a dog while I was there, and they wouldn't tell me about it but it looked like a big deal. A lot of manager-types got to talking to people, and even though the dog looked totally fine (He got back up and started chewing on the boss's shoe-lace) they took it super serious, so I think they really care about the dogs/care about the dog's value too much to abuse them at all. They brag about good personalities in the dogs, and the dogs are awesome, and if you abuse a dog they turn scared/mean. No dogs like that here. A lot of these reviews are just silly. I thought there was something serious going on here when I went to check it out, but it looks like a well-run pet store to me.

1 month ago I purchased my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel from Petland, and overall the shopping process was a very good experience. The trouble is that she has been sick since day one. It has never crossed my mind to return her but I am very upset that they did not let me know she was sick. I noticed my puppy was coughing when I was at the store but Chris (Petland employee) told me it was not cough, he said it was actually a sneeze and that it was perfectly normal. He also let me know she had been using a nebulizer but he told me it was because she had a short snout and that it facilitated her breathing, now I am thinking it was because they were conscious she was sick even before they sold her to me. Long story short, it's been a little over a month and my puppy is still on antibiotics and not at all getting better. She is a lovely pup but it is not fair they hide the truth about your puppy's health. Recommendations : With all the respect everyone deserves, please inform people about the TRUE health condition puppies are in. I would have not paid $5,000 if I knew the problem I was getting into. Like I said before, I would never return her because she is part of my small family now but it is totally unfair that you guys are NOT HONEST.
