Prospect Park is a 526-acre public park in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, and the second largest public park in Brooklyn. The park is situated between the neighborhoods of Park Slope, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Ditmas Park and Windsor Terrace, as well as Flatbush Avenue, Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Prospect Park is run and operated by the Prospect Park Alliance and New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. It is part of the Brooklyn-Queens Greenway.OverviewProspect Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux after their completion of Manhattan's Central Park. Main attractions of the park include the 90-acre (36 ha) Long Meadow; the Picnic House; Litchfield Villa, the pre-existing home of Edwin Clark Litchfield, an early developer of the neighborhood and a former owner of a southern section of the Park; Prospect Park Zoo; a large nature conservancy managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society; The Boathouse, housing a visitors center and the first urban Audubon Center; Brooklyn's only lake, covering 60acre; the Prospect Park Bandshell that hosts free outdoor concerts in the summertime. The park also has sports facilities including seven baseball fields in the Long Meadow, and the Prospect Park Tennis Center, basketball courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, and the New York Pétanque Club in the Parade Ground. Prospect park is one of my favorite places to go for a jog alone or with friends. The property is huge and rich rich in nature, peaceful and beautifully green. One can definitely have a picnic date with loved ones while reading books or simply exercising. I especially enjoy walking down to the Atlantic centre after a jog in the evenings. The environment is quite captivating and a picture is painted in my mind everytime. Lovely scenery

Prospect Park is a park where there is some type of activity for everyone in the family. In my opinion, Prospect Park is the best park in Brooklyn, and one of the top parks in New York City. Just name an activity, and chances are, you'll probably be able to do it in Prospect Park. Bike-riding, jogging, horseback riding, leisurely scenic walks or strolls, family picnics, free musical entertainment, are but a few activities available to all. Prospect Park is easily accessible by several means of transportation, including mass transit. Do yourself a favor and visit Prospect Park in Brooklyn with your family and friends. I guarantee you won't regret it, not even a little bit.

I've lived in Brooklyn all my life and Prospect Park has always been a memorable place for me. It's a nice 'getaway' from the urban atmosphere and provides a quiet place to go think and relax. Lately I just go for runs in the park and then cool down by the lake with some stretching, yoga, and breathing exercises. There are plenty of activities when the weather is nice such as concerts, movie screenings, and roller skating to name a few. Prospect Park should definitely be visited from time to time. 👍🏽

Decent park, but absolutely no place to park. Great park to walk your dog. Lots of dog walkers all day long. Don't forget to bring water for your pet if it's over 70 degrees. Gotta keep those pups hydrated. Enjoy your walk.

Lovely park. Rugged but well kept. A place for adventures for kids, great place to meet friends. Love running laps here. Make sure to check out LeFrak in winter for the ice skating and in summer for refreshing water fun.
