Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Well maintained trails. Good for bird watching, saw quail, cactus wren, and several others. Sites are level, with shelters and fire pits. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. Staff helpful. Very interesting visitors center - the gentleman there was pleasant and gave us good tips on what to look for.

Very impressed. Each lot is raked and cleaned. The hiking is great with lots of mineral rocks. It you like, you can go to the top of the hill and find crazy good stuff. Only 14 bucks for full hookup. I even found a thunder egg in my campsite.

Love this place! They were full last night but host let us boondocked in a pull out on the road. Beautiful Vista, gorgeous sunset and we saw a mountain lion!

I looked online about reservations and everything was booked. So I called in and the said best time to get here is by noon for any spaces that opened up. When we got here sharing the group site was available or off road (we came with an rv and ATVS so stayed off road). You can't use the ATVs in the park but there are dirt roads around. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes - 2 people in our group had catus go through their sneakers. The visitor center is is informative, facilities are in great condition, the camp host, staff and rangers are all super nice. We brought 4 kids with us (ages 4-7) and they've had a great time exploring and collecting. There's lots of jasper, found quite a bit of common opal, quartz, agate, perlite and a few gas bubbles.
