Best described as rustic.  The building is antic.  But room was very nice with a gas fire place.  Located very close to Cal Berkeley.  Free Breakfast was bacon, sausage, eggs,potatoes all the continental fixings.  Loved it!

Loved this place! If I ever go back to Bay Area I'm definitely staying here! It felt more like a place where college kids hang out. Nice gardens in the area. Walked in and out at night without any issues. Found parking on the street but needed to wake up early anyway so this wasn't an issue. I think for M-F you need to move the car by 8am? I forget, but make sure you read the signs if you end up parking on the street.

It has a little bit of a European hostel vibe, which I like (Fans of 5  star accommodation may not enjoy it as much). It's quirky and comes with some old building issues (mismatched paint, cracks, old fixtures, etc). Overall I think that makes the place charming. It's got a yummy free breakfast and free cookies in the afternoon. It's made up of a series of neat old Victorian houses surrounded by various patios and small gardens. It feels very Berkeley, quirky, a little off, but lovable.

Charming inn, but a little aged.  Good buffet breakfast, but not many low calorie or low carb options. Friendly staff. Great location to Univ of Berkeley.
