When looking for a fridge we decided to go to Sears since our last couple of experiences with Lowes and as kids our parents always went to Sears. What a mistake that was! We ended up spending $3700. The experience in the store was pretty good. The staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable. However, that was short lived and incorrect. First, it took six weeks (yes – weeks) to have the fridge delivered. The delivery crew barely spoke English and they were in an unmarked box truck. My wife took delivery and the two men barely spoke to her. They brought the fridge in through the door without taking the doors off, they opened them and twisted the fridge into the house. Within 24 hours the control panel had an error that needed reset. The second time about the error I called and scheduled a service call. The tech came out spent an hour at the house only to tell me the part is not available and rather than call in to get the frig reset I can just unplug it and it will reset. The tech was actually the most helpful person in this whole process. We went back to the store, since they told us any issues to just contact them, and basically were brushed off and told to call the 800 number in the back of the book. We were also told Sears would offer incentives to keep the refrigerator, which almost made it feel like we were trying to run a game to get money back. After spending some time working through an automated service that kept referring me to a website to return my parts (???) I was finally able to talk to someone about returning the refrigerator (who ended up being the second most helpful person in the process). Once the return was verified, I received a call from the department that picks up the refrigerator. They needed my credit card number to process the return (I thought we already did that!) but I did not have the card in my hand. So they give me another number to call and they need the same info. One thing I know for sure is that Sears offers home remodeling, especially since I was asked every time I got on the phone. Finally got to the finish line and provided all the info needed, now we will see if they can manage to pick up the fridge and refund the account. It is terrible what has happened to Sears. The store is basically a room with appliances with no more responsibility than hooking you. Any issue you have (service, return, etc.) is handled through an out sourced call center that sounds like it is in the middle of Grand Central Station (which seems to have been moved to India). The delivery service appears out sourced to whomever owns the call center. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else.

Made two trips and spoke with three different sales associates, at least the last one gave the impression that they were somewhat disappointed to be unable to help me find the correct replacement filter for my refrigerator. I even had the model number available. I know, first world problem, but I bought the fridge from Sears in the first place. smh

Greg the salesperson did a wonderful job in assisting me with my purchase. However, delivery reliability is another issue altogether. Part of the sales process consists of operational promises such as delivery days and times, those obligations should be fulfilled by Sears. I would have rated 5 stars if it weren't for operational inefficiencies.
