I heard about this place from my brother law, who happens to be a chef. He told me that he was very pleased and that I should try it. Well, finally tried it today and tried two dishes: Morongo with pork platter and the Bistec enzabollado. Both were very good. I specially enjoyed the habichuelas and white rice. Nothing compares to mom's Puerto Rican home cooking but I am sure happy to have Señor Ed here out west. Boricuas!!!!!! Parking: Was plentiful today!
It's ok I'm Puerto Rican and my husband is Mexican. We both ordered a Rican dish and he had Mexican nachos. Both cultures are known for their amazing flavors and boldness. None of the dishes hit that wow factor at all. The arroz was dry and bland. The pernil lacked all flavor. My yucca con mojo was ok but it was probably due to the mojo sauce since it had garlic. I won't return here again
Where are my boricuas at? I finally found a good Puerto Rican joint here in So Cal. This time I was accompanied by my good friend @jessmcardona who knows Puerto Rican food. @srbiged is serving up classic dishes such as carne guisada, the meat is juicy and succulent. The bistec encebollado is a must as well. Make sure to try the mofongo with pork, it is way better than the one Islas Cuban Latin Kitchen serves. The empanadas that we tasted from the appetizer sampler were on point as well. We were both impressed with the food and hope to come back soon. Check them out and make sure to tell them I sent you
Not friendly. I go there to pick up mostly, and when walking in , no one greets me. Not even eye contact. The staff, and cooks were not nice towards me. Very cold. I thought someone would say hi. Just even a smile or acknowledgment would be nice. The lady who rang me up, the Owner I believe she is or staff.. not friendly Not even the other lady who was there, employee said welcome or a simple acknowledgment. I’ll never go there again to buy anything. They don’t treat all customers the same. After purchase, she just hands me receipt without me signing, not even a chance for me to tip. Just assuming I wouldn’t. Not even, have a nice day. The basic things to do in Customer service. Customers service makes a big difference. People ask me all the time how the food is there, well, customers service is a big part as well. Not just the food. I did not have a great experience there, and this was not the first time. I will not return there again to buy anything.
Dominican NYer here new to OC, im happy to find this delicious arroz con guandules! Beans were also tasty and cheese pastelito big and fresh! Definitely coming back for more.Recommended dishesArroz Con Gandules
The mofongo was everything. It was everything I expected and more. The dining experience was great. Awesome atmosphere and extremely courteous staff. Parking: Parking right out front!
Delicious, authentic food served in a very charming environment. The portions were huge and came out in no time. Our server Veronica was very gracious and attentive. Highly recommend.
I throughly enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. Service was quick and our server was pleasant. This was my first experience with Puerto Rican cuisine and it was amazing! I had the Mofongo Relleno with pork and my friend had the Canoa De Platano Maduro, and both were really enjoyable. Highly recommend
Staff was happy to recommend popular menu items. Stewed beef was super tender and savory. Flank steak and onions was flavorful but not over-seasoned. Friendly staff provided attentive service. Very happy with our experience here.
I had a food baby and Big Ed is the father. Seriously. I love this place. It's quality food, in large portions, for cheap. The service is friendly and fast. What more could you want? This is my new #1 Mexican lunch stop.
