We were checked in by a very friendly front desk. After arriving to our first room, the toilet would not work. We were quickly changed to another room and had no problems! The hotel needs a little updating in the bathroom, but otherwise was clean. Breakfast was above average. Overall good stay.

The young lady at the front desk was really nice,but when we got to our room this is what we seen and housekeeping was really slow about cleaning it mmm.

Is it possible to give a half star? Stayed here last night while on a road trip back home with my missions team, and let's just say the experience started off misleadingly well. Compared to our stay at a local hotel last week, the entrance seemed to promise a comfortable and clean night. And I believe this hotel is part of a chain(?). The front desk quickly checked us in when we arrived around midnight. This is where the pleasantries end. We booked 4 rooms. 1st room -- We're trying to use our keys to enter the rooms and then we walk in to find another customer and their belongings already there. Kinda awkward, but somewhat understandable. Things like this can happen. So we go back to the front desk to tell them about it, but they just offer to find you another room. No explanation, no apology. Just a new key card to another room now on the second floor. But to get to the second floor, you can't take the stairs that look like they lead to the second floor (because these actually lead you to a dark and strange storage room). To get to the second floor, you first attempt to use the stairs only to get laughed at by the front desk employees, and then you must use the elevator hidden next to the stairs that they silently point you toward. Now once you're actually on the 2nd floor you need to walk to your new room, just to realize that the key card they gave you doesn't work. (This will be a recurring theme in this story). 2nd room -- We open the door to find some sort of smell in the room, a cigarette smell that seems like someone tried to clean it but failed. Just to be sure, I looked on our door sign and of course there's the no smoking symbol on it. But sure, ok. They can't control certain customers who smoke when the room is non smoking. I understand. So I ask for a new room hoping that it doesn't smell but they tell us there are no more available rooms. Hm. So our pastor offers to trade rooms with us since his didn't smell. But the troubles don't end here. 3rd room -- this was the room my pastor let us have instead room #2. But even before the trade, we found out that both of his key cards were not working, even after countless times of trying. So he asks for new key cards but still those don't work. After running back and forth from the room to the front desk, they realize the desk's master key cards works. So finally, they issue 1 new and successful key card. I guess they didn't feel like getting 1 more to successfully work. Not a big problem, just again, no apologies, no explanations. Then after we enter the room, exhausted from the long ride and weird troubles we've encountered so far at this hotel already, we hear this really high pitched, constant chirping/ticking noise. Because, of course, it can't all just stop here. It first sounded like a ticking from some sort of bomb.. which seems over dramatic but you can't help but go to that suspicion when it's really late and the vibe of the place thus far doesn't seem normal. But after cautiously searching around the area, we concluded it couldn't be. Then we spent an hour looking for the source, changing our guess to it being a cricket or insect of some sort. We didn't want to inconvenience the front desk employees anymore, so we asked some guys from our team to come in and search for it so we can let it outside and finally get some quiet rest. But even after literally flipping the room upside down, moving the beds to search under and behind them, checking drawers and such... no cricket. But the ticking continues.... Great budget hotel with a decent free breakfast. Close to Southaven attractions and the interstate.
