Let me start by saying this is one of my favorite places to fish. But with that said, I had a pretty upsetting experience this morning. When you set reservations to fish it is usually a couple months out. So obviously your pretty excited the day you get to fish. Well, They don’t allow you to sign in until 7:30am. And what I unfortunately found out today is if your not signed in by 8:30 they will give your spot away. My spot was given away at 8:32am. I still can’t seem to find anywhere it states what they called a “no show”. I just want to inform my fellow fishermen. Don’t waste your gas money unless you get there by 8:25am. I still love this place but that was a hard lesson learned.

I hadn't heard about this place before, but my husband and I went hiking there to check it out since they have a lot of paved trails as well. The road was incredibly long, with a huge hill at the end, but we were surprised by how different each of the trails were. The wetlands trail led you through this beautiful area, and the miner's trail was my absolute favorite trail I've been on in a while. There were so many remnants of the gold Rush and the handouts of the history had a lot of cool trivia!

Gorgeous area and I'm so glad it's actively conserved. Enjoyed biking along Duke's Creek up to Chunanny Falls. Rent a bike at Woody's if you need one.
