I so wanted to love this place! & I so wanted some good down home cooking!  I even read the reviews before ordering.... me thinks someones friends are coming on here trying to drowned out the bad reviews!
This is the worst food I have ever bought in all 50 years of my life!
I was so stocked thinking I had found another Soul Food place after the owner of my last favorite one passed away.
Generic Canned biscuits so burnt I could not eat them.
greenish brown gravy with no seasoning on chicken fried streak (NOT COUNTRY OR PEPPER) gravy. (Looked like baby poop!)
Chicken fried steak tasted like & had texture like liver! (NO SEASONING!)
Potato salad was so salty I could hardly eat it! 
Save your money & do not eat here or order delivery etc. ..
I wanted to love this place & I wanted good food for the 50$ I spent & will never get back!  Spent the rest of the night running to bathroom/same for my daughter.
Food is GROSS save yourself & order else where!

This place is really good. I'm from the South and the Catfish was in point. For some if you that don't know what in Point means. It was really good, and it didn't have any bones. It's a place you must go to if you like soul food.

I can't even believe what just happened when we walked in to "Soul" for the first time. We love to support our local establishments and thought we'd give Soul a try. We walked upstairs, no one's in there and the lady barks, "we're only doing take out".... No "hello", no "how are you", no nothing. So I'm sure we looked confused and said ok thanks and proceed to head out... She then barked "why, do you look confused"....and I said we just didn't realize they were only doing take out. She then barked "we are closing at 3 for the super bowl... I'd rather you ask why then be mad!" we will never come in here again. Business 101....manners 101 better learn the basics asap! Sour soul

If I could give this negative stars I would. I've been here 1 time before and liked it. I brought a friend who has never been. We pull up and see a guy outside smoking on the stairs. Didn't think anything of it. We walk in and were seated second before a rush came. Of course the guy smoking ends up being our server. Smh. I know he didn't wash his hands. He had a huge infected bump on his mouth too! Time goes by.. more people come in. Another server asks everyone around us for their orders. Our server disappears. I mention it to the girl. She gets him. He takes our order. Mind you we are starving! After like 45 minutes we get the crabcakes we order. They were good! We wait another 30 minutes for our main dishes. My friend ordered a po boy sandwich meal and I ordered the catfish meal. The bring her meal out and I still wait. I notice the table that came in 2 tables after us get their food before me. Which was the SAME thing I ordered. So I ask why haven't I got mine? My server says "the ticket must have gotten mixed up." Ummm mine and my friends is on the same ticket! So I wait longer. No apology no nothing. 20 mins goes by now. No one checked in with us or anything. We get up to leave. We go to pay for what we ate and drank. We obviously complain.  Our server smerked the entire time. I asked him what was funny he says "what did you want me to do?"...at this time the other server is standing with us too. She has the worst attitude EVER. I asked if we did something wrong? She also says "what did you want me to do?..we had a rush." Umm no. There was nobody in there except one table when we first got there. I ask to speak to a manager because we aren't being taken seriously and this girl is testing my patience with her lack of customer service skills. And had the nerve to tell us "we don't know what working in customer service is like." She walks in the kitchen with an attitude and condescendingly tells a guy we are out there complaining. Oh and she also told my friend she had to pay for her PO boy that she didn't touch. By this time her attitude has us mad. So we walk out. We didn't feel like we deserved to be treated like that. We hear her say "oh they left" ...gave them plenty of chances to make it better. They did nothing. And the catfish was bland and old tasting. Needless to say unless they fire their current staff we won't be back. So disappointed.

One of my favorites spots!  Everything on the menu is great.  I'd just take whatever plate they gave me without even looking at the menu tbh.
