Story

Situated on a narrow slice of land enveloped by the Gulf of Mexico and the Laguna Madre Bay, this palm-tree-peppered KOA feels like camping meets upscale resort. With no shortage of aqua adventures, from deep-sea to bay fishing, boating, marine life viewing and swimming (in the 25-meter pool or at Schlitterbahn Waterpark across the street), there are endless ways to spend the hours getting wet. Landlubbers will have plenty to choose from as well, with the campground's recreation and fitness rooms, an on-site restaurant, a fantastic playground for kids and a Kamp K9 off-leash pet playground. The RV sites further aid in the pursuit of fun on land with wireless Internet and expanded cable TV. Very nice. We stayed in one of the deluxe cabins for two nights and it met all our needs. The only complaint was a lack of storage to put our things in but it was fine for a few nights. We will definitely be back.

Nice RV park but spaces are crouded. It also has cabin for rent. It is close to the beach and other activities.

The only reason for 4 stars is the gravel. No grass really for our dogs and they had a bit of trouble walking around (small dogs). Everyone was nice. No one next to us the entire time so had plenty of room. They had events for the full-timers we could have attended but we didn't. Unfortunately the weather was crappy so did not get to partake in the pool or hot tub. Probably not worth the money because of that but they can't control the weather! Probably would not go back unless the weather cooperated due to cost.

We visited for the first time last week. Brought our 2 dogs and stayed in the deluxe cabins on the bay. The cabins are large enough for us to be nice and comfortable even if we added 2 more people. Sleeping 6 might be a little tight, but possible with the pullout couch. They're furnished too, kitchen grill tools, soap, etc, so you don't need to bring much of anything except your clothes. We had one of the middle cabins and had a beautiful view of the bay. You could stand in the bedroom and see the water. Dolphins are active in the morning and evening, fish are active and jumping constantly. You can fish right off your patio if you wanted to. The cabins are close together but are angled so each one feels private and quaint. Pier 19 is right there on site, and the beach is within walking distance, so you don't really ever have to leave the south end of the island if you don't want to. But, you should, because this entire place is georgous. We were already planning our next trip before we even left.

Very nice! Nice and helpful people at front desk. Very clean and beautifully landscaped. Big pool with hot tub. Restaurant within walking distance with great service and good food! Will definitely come back again
