The staff here are amazing. Even with the aftermath of Harvy we are being well taken care of, activities are going on, and the park looks amazing.

We were there for a weekend stay back in late May, and the staff escorted us to our spot (Spot #15 by the pool). I'll start off by saying that I drove 18 wheelers and buses for years, so I don't need help backing my 28 foot camper. In the past, when I would back the unit in myself the staff would simply act as lookouts to make sure we didn't hit anything, and as long as we were in the spot we were good. This time, when I started backing it into the spot, a staff member I hadn't seen before (we nicknamed him Big Bubba) motioned for me to stop, and he stood next to the pad pointing to the edge of it where he wanted us parked. He parked us very close to the big tree next to the spot, it was so close in fact that he had to trim back limbs so we could put our slide out. We repeatedly told the staff that we did not feel comfortable parking so close to the tree, but they insisted that it would be fine. When we exited the spot on Sunday, sure enough the back of our camper caught the tree. It peeled the sheet metal back from the frame, destroyed the molding, and cracked the frame itself. We got the Onsite Manager to come out and look at it, and he reminded us that they are not responsible for any damage to our unit. So, they were ok with insisting on where/how we park our unit, but they're not ok with taking responsibility, even though we previously expressed our concerns. My girlfriend wrote an initial review about what happened, and the owner wrote us an ugly response saying that their highly trained and dedicated staff would never do something like that, so we must be lying. We were provided with an insurance form to fill out for the $2,400 worth of damage to our unit, but their insurance company denied our claim because the park fought it. The claims agent was very nice, and she told me that if the park owned up to it, or at least part of it, the company would've paid. Everyone remarks about how nice this place is, and how helpful everyone is. We stayed here quite often before this incident, and had the same opinion about the park. Then this incident happened, and the staff did a 180 from caring and helpful, to apathetic and defensive. We've now gotten to see a completely different side of these people emerge. So, a few takeaways from this experience; even if you're being escorted by the staff remember, if it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't, and it is YOUR personal property at stake if something happens, NOT theirs. If you stay at this park, are following the directions from the staff, and they back you into something, or are involved in causing damage to your unit, then you will end up like us too. Our insurance deductible is $1,000, and we will end up eating that, but if this review helps someone else avoid this situation in the future, then it is well worth it to me. As for us, we will never, ever, ever, come back to this place again, even if it is the last RV Resort in Texas. Update based on owner response: We've left that same site many times before without incident when we parked our unit in the center of the spot, as we tried to this time, but were told we couldn't, which lead to the accident. Things happen, that's just life, but it's too bad we couldn't have just worked it out peacefully. The insurance company denied our claim because under Texas Law, someone can admit liability, (i.e. the owner sending us an insurance form), without necessarily admitting negligence and if they don't, then the insurance company's hands are tied. This could've ultimately been resolved peacefully with a little empathy and kindness, instead of conflict. It wouldn't have been a big deal to the insurance company to pay out had the park been reasonable, that's what insurance is for. I don't blame others for my mistakes, the only mistakes I've made was letting the staff tell me what I can and can't do with my personal property, and counting on the park to take care of the customer. As for no previous incidents with other customers, it only takes once, and here we are. Others can now see how it will be if it ever happens to them.
