The restaurant was crowded when we showed up and got seated quickly. I went during brunch time and decided to try their weekly lunch meals of the day. I was here on a Saturday and chose their fried chicken. You’re able to try the chicken fried steak instead. The waitress we had was nice and did her job well. The meal took long too get here though and wasn’t worth the wait. This tastes like a home cook meal. The chicken was a bit try but seasoned well. The side dishes were decently good too. Overall, I would likely try something else.
Service was good and friendly. The two omelettes veggie and egg whites we ordered were pretty oily on the plates, hash browns were soggy. The pancakes at the other table looked good, will be back to try them or maybe Grench toast.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes

Oh boy!! That was good!! Vegetarian Omelette with Feta Cheese & Hash Browns! And, you MUST have pie if you visit...the reason for Strawn's popularity is in the pie! My seasonal peach was fresh & PEACHY! Loads of homemade whipped cream! A+ taste!

The ONLY thing preventing this from being a 5 star review is *SOME* of the staff. Specifically the lady who works the register. We have been every weekend for several months because it really is that good and she clearly does not want to be there. She makes the people who pay AWARE that she is inconvenienced by them. She does not smile, she does not ask about the food or service, she does not thank you. And she said she is the owner/manager. Some of the other staff members are also unfriendly, only one or two will smile at you. I get it, they're always busy, but my goodness. It makes us not go as often or go to the one on Line Ave. If great food served by sour faces is your thing, you'll love it. If you can get past the feeling of being an inconvenience- the food is terrific. Wish staff would be more friendly and welcoming.
One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The waitress was extremely nice, however, the owner was extremely rude. I was told that the meal I was getting would be less due to the modifications I made to my order, yet when it was time to check out, the price was the same as if I had gotten all the extras. When I inquired about the price, the owner became rude and hostile. I am very considerate and professional, never raised my voice, simply wanted clarity. I’m sorry but in my opinion , three pancakes, two slices of bacon and a cup of ice is hardly worth $15. I have conducted business with Strawns numerous times over the years for work events and personal orders but after this experience, I will never eat or purchase food from this restaurant again. The owner/manager needs a course in customer service as she clearly lacks the necessary skills to deal with customers.
