Amenities for the RV area are fantastic! It might sound silly to non-campers, but the bathrooms made my day! They are pristine, gorgeous, and even have music! Thank you! The beach area and the patio by the restaurant are beautiful. It actually lives up to its name, with an amazing sunset view. The camp store is well stocked (even has some beer and wine!). The pizza at the restaurant was fresh crust and yummy. The pool is great, with a wade in entrance and 2' shallow end that was perfect for our young kids. The only drawback for us is that the sites are kind of like just a grassy parking lot. They have planted trees, but it will be a while before there's any privacy. But I still give this place five stars. We extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much!

Wasn't very pleasant. They have no fridge. Limited access to ice. No microwave. No coffee machine. No complementary breakfast. Air conditioning was too loud. Blanket is light. We're in January for God sake! Cleaning and service could improve. I'd definitely consider other hotels or Airbnb.

Really nice campground and overall great experience, but be warned.....GET YOUR QUOTE IN WRITING!!! We went to check in and they tried to charge me $200 more than what I was quoted for a camping spot for 8 nights. The receipt they send you doesn't show your nightly rate or the total due upon arrival, it just shows you have a reservation and what you paid as a security deposit. After going back and forth with the manager, we split the difference....still too much for the cheapest tent spot available! The website says they have laundry facilities onsite, but upon arrival, they were not ready. We were expecting to do laundry while we were there, so we didn't take too many towels. The closest laundry mat is in Cape Charles and looks like it came out of the 70's.....with only a few working washing machines. A simple note on the website or a courtesy email would have been nice and I would have taken more towels. HOWEVER.....I have to give them 5 stars on the bath houses. Each one was clean and well air conditioned!! The pool was nice, the staff was very friendly, and there were plenty of activities for the kids. Sunsets on the beach were amazing (they even rake the seaweed up off the beach every morning). There was live music by the bay on the week-ends. I can't say enough about the staff. We were there to fish and they made us a make shift fish cleaning station which was great. My family really enjoyed our vacation and we all look forward to going back!

We stayed at Sunset Beach while on family vacation for a wedding. The resort is being renovated and definitely has a lot of potential. However, it is clear the resort is still getting their bearings as the restaurant ran out of food, the rooms did not have the promised fridge and microwave, and some of the staff seemed disorganized. But, once they get things rolling and work out the kinks, it will be a hopping vacation destination for families to spend the weekend! The pool bathrooms are heavily air conditioned, the beach has music, they offer golf cart transportation around the property, and the camp grounds are nice.

I did not stay there but used the meeting room. It was great! The shop downstairs had a nice coffee bar. They also had a nice selection of craft beer for sale at really nice prices.
