This is a review for the T-Mobile Store #653D in Spotsylvania Towne Center, 137 Spotsylvania Mall Drive, Space 460, Fredericksburg, VA. The store manager is Kamran Ali. We went to this store to switch phone carriers from Verizon to T-Mobile so we can avail of the 55+ promo plan for $60 (unlimited talk, text and data), plus $20 for the 2 tablet data fee. As I was validating our new phone plan in My T-Mobile account, I was surprised to see the details that were set-up by this store. Instead of the $80 plan that we agreed on when we were at the store, the new plan now costs us $190.00!!!! Without hesitation, I called up the T-Mobile customer service to clarify my new phone plan and I found out that the store manager deceived and lied to us into agreeing into this plan. The customer service agent explained to me the current details of my plan and apologized that the details are NOT disclosed to us by the manager. 1. When he switched our Verizon lines to T-mobile last Nov 18, 2017, he enrolled us in the $130/month plan. The 55+ promo plan for $60 will not take effect until December 19, 2017. He did not inform us about this and made us believe that we are enrolled in the 55+ promo plan from that very day that we switched. If we had known that he will charge us more on the first month, we could have waited until December. 2. Since we are new customers, we were told by the store manager that we can avail of the Alcatel A30 tablets for FREE and we will only pay additional $10/line per month, and we can cancel after 3 months. However, the customer service agent clarified that if we cancel before the end of the 24-month period, we will be charged for the remaining cost of the devices (which is $6/month for each tablet). Thus, the tablets are NOT FREE!!! 3. The store manager enrolled us in T-Mobile One Plus which costs an extra $10.00 per month. We specifically told him we do not want the HotSpot data, but he still set it up without our permission. The T-Mobile customer service agent was so accommodating and made adjustments to our new account. She made the $60 plan effective Nov 18 (instead of Dec 19 that was set-up by the store manager) and removed the $10 Hotspot data fee. However, she said we have to go back to the store to return the tablets and cancel the tablet data service, if we really do not want it anymore since she cannot cancel it from her end. My husband called the store as soon as they opened, but the manager is off-duty, so we informed the person that we are going to return the tablets and cancel the data service because they lied and deceived us, and did not disclose all the conditions of the plan when they finalized our transaction. I wrote this review to caution other customers to verify the details of their phone contract from this store to ensure that everything is in place and no additional fees are charged to your account without your consent. Don't forget to set-up your My T-Mobile account so you can validate what they set up in store.
