Friendly staff, good food (at a price), trendy aesthetic and comfortable amenities. Stayed here for a couple of nights to celebrate a birthday and anniversary and we had a wonderful time, the location is convenient (if can you manage to leave your room) and there's obviously plenty in the area to keep you entertained. Our room only had a single pillow when we arrived, but they brought us another in minutes. In general the front desk was very helpful and the concierge has plenty of assistance to offer. Worth a return visit.

Rooms are nicely decorated, and of an average size for an NYC hotel. There's an amazing restaurant and bar on the first floor, and some very nice outdoor spaces in the middle of Soho. My complaints are a lack of attention to detail. There aren't enough it conveniently placed outlets. The bathroom doesn't have a vent fan. It doesn't seem to get too steamy, but because the bathroom is a glass box, there's no sound isolation. Being in the room is basically like being in the bathroom acoustically. A vent fan would at least help mitigate that.

Perched on the edge of SoHo at the end of one of its most interesting streets, full of one off boutiques and unusual emporiums, The James is a glass slab tower that attracts daylight like a beacon. Natural is the key word in terms of detail: Linen sheets, wooden floors, cashmere cushion. The luxury of understated quality.

Great hotel, good location. Room was large and spacious with king size bed, had good size bathroom with waterfall shower. Try the rooftop bar lounge (Jimmys) - stunning views and one of the nicer places with good mix of people and music. Staff were pleasant and helpful and there's a coffee shop across the road and deli/convenience store right next door. Lots of shopping down Grand St about 6 mins walk away.

The James New York - SoHo was an amazing experience. The rooms were small but comfortable. The only issue is the curtain that is needed to be put down in order to separate the bedroom from the bathroom.
