Nostalgic eclectic hotel. Live music nightly in the roaring 20's - 50's refurbed jazz club in the basement. Music in main level lounge and bar area. Great coffee shop, and great rooms with wood floors and spacious bathrooms. Service was great in spots and naive in others. Did I mention the movie theater downstairs with some current artsy award nominated films and more rare others.

We had SUCH a lovely stay here; I would return again in a heartbeat! The rooms are sizable for NYC, and the style/design throughout the hotel and in the rooms is chic and modern. There is a coffee bar, oyster bar and restaurant on the premises and we got to hear live music pretty often throughout the weekend in the lobby. We loved our pet goldfish for the weekend, too! The staff was so gracious and went out of their way to help us hail cabs in the freezing cold and the front desk was very accommodating also. A+!

Can't say enough good about our brief stay here. The Roxy is such a charming spot; they've done a great job of keeping the original look and feel all the way through from the common areas to the rooms. Every staff member we interacted with was beyond helpful and pleasant. The hotel restaurant & bar really impressed; we had a great meal with live music and fantastic service. Cocktails are pricy, but perfectly mixed and really suit the jazz-era vibe; well worth it. A tip for anyone visiting: Check out the cinema downstairs; it's complimentary with a stay and they have great taste in the films being screened.

This staff in this hotel are exceptional, going out of their way to accommodate and remember you. Rooms are nicely designed and food, drinks, and service are excellent. My husband ate breakfasts more sumptuous than he would ever make at home, while I ate delicious spartan fare. Loved the piano during cocktail hour, the hotel's charming little theater, easy access to trains and great shopping.

The staff are fairly trained. The drinks are watered down after 9pm. Like I wouldn't notice.... The security is very uptight but in a good way. You will feel safe and secure. They patrol quite often and watch out. The beds could be softer....
